We had a short weekend break at the The Beach House. This is a wonderful Arts and Crafts building with fantastic period features and a great history. We stayed in a room with a breathtaking sea view, the bed was really comfortable and the room spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice. The hotel even has two EV fast chargers.

We had dinner the first night. My husband enjoyed the steak pie. I had the mushroom burger and have to say that it was not good. The mushroom patty was very overcooked and the dish was tasteless but I did not say anything at the time as it was our anniversary and I did not want to spoil the evening. The breakfasts, however, were very nice. There was an amazing selection of dishes all very well prepared. The staff here are fantastic but they need more help. I know that employing staff is difficult but they are short staffed. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, the price was excellent and I will stay again and recommend the hotel to others.

It was a wonderful stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. It was beautifully furnished and decorated, and perfectly situated near the ocean with a small town nearby. The only thing I want to mention is that I wish we could drop off our bags before check-in, but I understand the situation. Also, public transportation was a bit inconsistent, but that's not the hotel's fault—just something for travelers without a car to be aware of!

Lovely stay beside the sea in the Mew Forest

Really nicely maintained and run old house hotel. Period features retained, yet clean and light.
