Ventura Motel - yikes!

We were told on arrival that they had NOT been paid for the night even though I had the receipt in my hand. I had to contact hotels.com to correct the situation, but even then, they continued to claim they were not paid. We had to deal with the manager at least 3 times before the problem was resolved (we think - because we were never informed that it had been).

Pictures posted online of the property are not even close to what is available. We went to the office to notify our bathroom sink is clogged… response was no, i checked it last night, not addressed, still clogged when we left. Nothing like spitting toothpaste in the toilet. Only toiletries in the room was conditioner. Only coffee in the room was 1 decaf and plastic glasses. Enough said.

we had a home emergency and needed to get a room for the night when it was already late. Ventura had an affordable room ready to go. the motel is very much a classic old style motel. there aren't crazy amenities or anything like that but the room was quiet, comfortable and affordable. If you need a fancier place there are plenty of options but if you don't need a bunch of bells and whistles this was great.

This hotel is not supposed to be five star, but it could use an update….for example, the stairs to the second floor, could use a fresh coat of paint, there was paint flacking and chipping off the steps….the fitted sheet doesn’t fit the mattress. Found a used can behind microwave….but, it was quite, which is important to me…the room was spacious in size.

The place is very old and needs so much attention. Liked staying at a low budget hotel with exorbitant prices. Hollow core door for outside door. Screen door had missing glass and torn screen. The owner would have blamed us for the screen door but I showed him picture we took upon arrival.

Might be a little better then sleeping in the car

I really hate to leave a bad review but this place is a dump. The floors are dirty the bed sheets and comforter were dirty. I can almost guarantee non of the bedding was washed before we got there. Luckily we had some blankets with us so we were able to put them over the bed so we could at least sleep on it. Like my title says this motel might be a little better then staying in your car but not by much. I would advise to look somewhere else for a hotel.

This is the grossest place I have ever stayed in. I have traveled into Third World countries and stayed in the jungle and not been as disappointed in my room. I will likely have to sleep in my car tonight. The worst thing is that this place stinks. Musty and some kind of other smell I’m not going to describe. The curtains are especially gross and they had a big office clip holding them shut. The bed is weird, creaky and uncomfortable. It’s a holiday weekend and almost everything else in the town is sold out and I have a ferry to catch early in the morning so I’m not going to switch now and stay somewhere expensive.

Ventura Motel was the perfect place for us to crash after working the Suds on the Shore beer festival! It was clean, comfy, and very walkable from the fest and to all the fun downtown stuff. Would stay here again.
