I don’t usually write reviews, but this stay was so frustrating I feel like people should know. From the moment we checked in, the experience was terrible. The receptionist (the guy with curly hair) was extremely rude and unprofessional. When we walked in, he didn’t even greet us—just acted annoyed that we were there, like we were bothering him. He clearly didn’t want to be working there and made no effort to hide it.
To make things worse, we booked a room for 3 people with two queen beds, but only 2 towels were provided. When we politely asked for an extra towel (a very reasonable request considering we PAID for 3 guests), he got visibly irritated and snapped that we “didn’t have the right to ask for another towel.” Seriously? At a hotel? Then he made an even more ridiculous comment saying the only reason he had to be “decent” was because he was being recorded on camera. That is beyond unprofessional.
I’ve stayed at many hotels, and I have never experienced this kind of treatment from staff. A receptionist is the first impression of a hotel, and this one completely ruined ours. For the price we paid, we expected at least basic courtesy and the bare minimum of customer service—not hostility over a towel.
This was hands-down one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in a hotel. La Quinta needs to seriously reconsider who they put at the front desk, because this kind of behavior will drive people away fast.
