I arrived at 4:30pm and had filled out the check in form in advance, check in was at 3pm and at 4:30pm I was told room was not ready and they didn't know when it will be ready which was really annoying. I asked them to accomodate late checkout in that case and they rejected to accomodate a full late checkout at 4pm amd said i could checkout at 2pm. They said I was going to get free drinks (the VIP access mentioned also free drink per person per stay) but did not get jt. I also confirmed that I did not need valet parking as the street was full of parking spots. I got my room, the room was nice spacious and clean and checked out the next day. Afterwards I received a folio via email and I was charged for valet parking. I had to call them and tell them I was charged and they looked into it then reversed the charge. It is a great location, room was spacious but for the price paid horrible service. I had to run after them to get certain things done and I had to request late checkout when they failed to check me in on time.

The room was spacious and comfortable, very walkable to the Golden Triangle and restaurants. Easy to take car shares to other spots in West Hollywood. Staff was excellent and friendly, with Maribel and Jeremy as standouts! Friendly, helpful and kind! Thank you for making my stay at the Avalon a great one!

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and exceeds expectations for the area. Valet parking is a pain as the valets are often not available and you will wait for your car to be picked up or dropped off. They are good folks but probably overworked. The check out staff we encountered clearly had a chip on the shoulder and was either incapable of or disinclined to assist a customer. Shame, as the hotel is in a fairly good location although not quite within walking distance of anything that LA has to offer.

Great location, front desk staff was very kind. Shower did not work well (shower head kept falling) and the drain barely worked. The room is in need of a good cleaning as there was dirt and stains on many of the walls, specifically around the AC. I was charged for valet when I never parked at the hotel and was told the “amenity fee” was for items like the soap/shampoo and “free waters” in the room, which seems very odd. Again, great location and staff, but business practices are a little concerning.

I stay at Avalon all the time. The staff is very helpful and recognized repeat or loyal customers which is nice. They put me in the Canon Building which is not optimal. The room is basically the same. However, no elevator in Canon Building.

The property was just "ok". It's obviously a much older hotel, renovated to be younger and chic, but in my opinion they needed to go an extra mile. The rooms are tired, carpet is old, fixtures are meh - walls are painted over and bubbled in a lot of places. The location is good, quiet, and out of the hustle and bustle of BH, but still walkable to amenities. Staff were very lovely. Next time I'd stay somewhere I knew was fresh, clean and more comfortable.
