I stay in London most weeks and this is by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. The service was appalling, pretentious even. Couldn’t get served when I had a business client with me at the bar ( the bar was virtually empty), but when we stood up to leave, the waitress sped over with the bill. My client looked at me in disbelief. My room booking (for £455 a night) included breakfast. But I was challenged at reception and the concierge had to ring a manager, who asked for him to take a photo of my phone with the booking confirmation to PROVE that breakfast was included. Then he proceeded to tell me they’re having a lot of problems like this with Expedia bookings! Then why challenge me as if I’m lying? Honestly, the worst service I have ever had in any hotel, never mind a supposed luxury one. PS it wasn’t the concierge fault…he was merely doing what his manageress was instructing him over the phone. Terrible!

I booked this hotel for a special birthday surprise for my boyfriend, and unfortunately the entire experience was one disappointment after another. From the moment we arrived, the service was disorganized and unprofessional. There was a reservation mix-up on the hotel’s end, not ours, yet we were made to wait more than an hour in the lobby with no clear communication. Instead of offering any form of compensation or upgrade for the inconvenience, the hotel actually downgraded us to a smaller room for the first night — and we never received the price difference back. The room itself was far below five-star standards. The window was extremely dirty, and even after asking twice for it to be cleaned (and being repeatedly told it would be taken care of), nothing ever happened. To make matters worse, when we checked out, they never provided us with an invoice. I have now emailed them three times, and still no response. This level of inefficiency and lack of basic service is shocking for a hotel that advertises itself as luxury. Overall, the quality of the hotel and the staff was far below what you would expect from a five-star property. The reception team was unhelpful, unprofessional, and seemed unable to resolve even simple issues. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

Overall, it did not give or feel 5* Breakfast was basic. Not everyone wants an English breakfast. Had breakfast for one morning there and I went out after that. Limited options. SOME staff members were nice. The room felt claustrophobic and the hallways to the rooms are narrow. There is nothing exceptional about the hotel, nowhere to go inside the hotel. My room windows were low, it felt like I was in the attic. It had two windows but I had to have the room lights on the whole time, I would be walking into the furniture otherwise. The limited daylight of November was never utilised and that really stuck out for me. There were too many little things that added up to make my stay a forgettable experience.

Great stay overall! The hotel is beautiful, perfectly located, and the staff were outstanding. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of options. The room was lovely but a bit small, and the wardrobe was tiny. Bathroom was nice with a huge shower, though we had a brief issue with water pressure one day. Despite that, I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
