Check-in was a horrible experience. We checked in late, so we weren’t expecting a welcome parade or anything but a basic level of warmth would have been appreciated.
After a completely wild drive in, our 1 year old and 4 year old were super hungry and the food we had was cold. So, naturally we asked whether the staff could just give their food a quick zap in the microwave.
We were shocked when the female staff worker told us they cannot accommodate this request due to “allergy policy”. The two team members there told us this is a three star hotel, intimating we should temper our expectations. We told them we’ve stayed all over the world at all star levels and have literally never encountered this before.
We told the female staff member (who appeared to be the more senior of the two) that the kids won’t eat cold food and nothing is open at the late hour. We told her she could microwave the food in the container to avoid any possibility of contamination (it was McDonalds by the way, not peanut curry), and it took two trips downstairs of literal pleading for her to rudely grab the food and finally microwave it. Honestly, I was astonished.
The room itself was spacious. Clean linens. The moulding at the base of the tub was peeling and the tub had unsightly mold spots along the caulking. No mini-fridge and no outlets in the bathroom.
The kitchen/ restaurant team were kind and accommodating.
We wouldn’t stay here again. Temper your expectations folks.
