Was unfortunately disappointed with our room, and the response to our questions when speaking with staff. The front desk staff was kind, and understood (if not related to) how bad things were, but nothing substantial was done. They all seemed to act as if this was normal for their hotel, and only had bandaids (so to speak), not solutions.
The room was falling apart, and not suitable for two people. Some issues that were all present when we arrived:
- mold on the ceiling in the bathroom (which housekeeping said “happens when you shower” and wouldn’t clean)
- stained and scratched up walls
- Holes that are barely patched up
- Smells of wet stains
- only one chair, and so stained we couldn’t sit on it
- asked for another chair, but it was also incredibly stained
- Needed to put towels on top of the chairs to sit on them
- Closet’s hangers were mostly broken and missing pieces
- Fridge door broken - the inside of door was missing a piece so nothing could be kept in the door
- Fridge had huge clump of crusted ice in it that dripped and created a puddle, making our food wet
- the maintenance guy who came to look at the fridge just put a towel in it, no fixing could be done
- Two of the lights do not work
- we asked for extra sheets and one we were given was soiled
- When housekeeping came in, they took away the one clean sheet we had
It just felt like we really struggling to be there, without any other option and would never stay there again.
