The space
Most beach houses are too precious to actually enjoy, which is a total waste of a holiday.
Our place is a proper Aussie beach house built for people who care more about fun times and a swim.
The undercover outdoor area is the absolute winner here (and the reviews agree), featuring a pizza oven, a 6 burner BBQ with a wok, and two bar fridges to keep the drinks sorted.
You can feed 8 people at the massive table while the wood heater keeps the edge off the evening and the smart TV is playing Netflix.
If you do need to be inside, there's also a wood heater and 4 recliner lounges to fight over.
The location is unbeatable for water lovers. We are exactly 200m from the sandy shores of Lake Victoria, which is the best spot in town for a quiet dip or for the kids to splash around without worrying about rips. If you want proper waves, the 90 Mile Beach is a 2 minute drive away.
After the beach, hit the heated outdoor shower so you do not bring the coast back inside with you.
The house has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6 people comfortably:
* Bedroom 1: Queen bed with split system cooling.
* Bedroom 2: Queen bed with a ceiling fan.
* Bedroom 3: Two king single beds for the kids or mates.
You can walk to the Loch Sport pub for a counter meal, hit the bakery for a morning meat pie, or grab supplies at the supermarket in minutes.
There is heaps of room for a boat and plenty of off street parking.
If you want a weekend where the only stress is who gets to start the fire, this is your spot.
We include most things including NBN wifi and bed linen.
BYO towels and bath mat.
Guest access
All of it except the shed which is locked, and two internal cupboards which are locked and marked “private”.
Other things to note
For the kids (and adults who refuse to grow up), there’s a Nintendo Wii with a selection of games ready to settle any friendly competitions and a chess board for those who claim intellectual superiority to battle it out. Also board games and a selection of books to read.
The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for holiday chefs. There’s an Aldi coffee machine (BYO pods), tea, sugar, olive oil, and basic kitchen staples. Yes, we have all the BBQ utensils and a pizza cutter. The kitchen table comfortably seats 6 — perfect for casual meals or serious strategising over whether tomorrow is a lake or beach day.
All bedrooms come with fresh, quality linen and super comfy gel pillows. Extra pillows and woollen blankets are available for snuggling in front of the indoor wood fire, or cozying up outside by the pizza oven or fire pit.
One of the bedrooms has an oil heater in the cupboard for those cold nights. Which cupboard...I have no idea. The guests keep moving it but it is there. As are extra woollen blankets in every cupboard.
The laundry is fully equipped with a washer and dryer, so that sand is easy to clean up.
All bed linen provided, extra blankets and pillows included
BYO - Bathroom towels, beach towels, and bath mats. Please don't forget these else you'll need to dry outside in the sun.
There's an inside wood heater. It’s magical. Nervous to use it? No worries — the split system keeps the house perfectly warm.
Outside wood heater — perfect for epic outdoor evenings
Fire pit — for roasting marshmallows, telling stories, or staring at flames for hours
Smoking strictly outside only.
A word about nature. This is a rural beach house near a national park. Kangaroos, echidnas, wombats, stumpy-tail lizards, and birds are all part of the experience. Please don’t feed them — especially the birds, who have a taste for wooden structures like our decking rails.
And yes, we’re in the Australian bush, so you might meet the occasional spider or other tiny local resident. The house is professionally pest-controlled and spotless, but a rare visitor may appear. For your safety and sanity, there’s bug spray under the kitchen sink, and outside we have bug zappers to keep mosquitoes from eating you alive.
Basically, we’ve thought of almost everything — all that’s left is for you to bring your sense of humour, some towels, and maybe a marshmallow or two. 😁
