We had to move rooms as the sliding sash window was broken and couldn't close, but the weekend staff were pretty helpful to try and sort this for us. The rooms are quite spacious, a good provision of towels and toiletries was nice to see. A few old and tired fixtures and fittings as you'd expect from an establishment as old as this, but it's in a wonderful part of the world in a great location which is walking distance to Llangollen, all amenities and the Pavilion.

Hotel was in a great location and our room had beautiful views of the river and nearby church. Was happy with the hotel and service for the price, unfortunate that parking isn’t included in the price since you would need a car to get to this hotel.

Good location but very tired property. Staff mostly polite but not really engaged. Make you prepay for parking but do not care if there is no space to actually park. Toilet did not work and room servicing poor. Cooked breakfast and coffee was thankfully OK. Town itself is cute and best place to eat is the very popular Corn Mill, a 5 minute walk away from this property.

Room was dated but clean and had everything we needed for one night. On arrival there was no one at reception and we had to wait quite a while to check in, in spite of staff walking past us waiting. We wanted to get dinner at the hotel but the staff closed the restaurant 30min early and wouldn't serve us. Again we waited at the bar while three members of staff chatted and ignored us. Would not recommend the service here.

We stayed in a comfortable twin room at the Hand Hotel with a view across the river. One of the beds was slightly tilted due to the sloping floor which could have been easily corrected by using feet raisers on two of the bed legs.

Quite a change since the takeover; breakfast remains excellent, and the room I stayed in has had a big makeover. Everything was really good, except for the new Car Park payment which is a bit complicated, you really need to download the YourParkingSpace app to help. I had difficulty using the QA code on the reception desk. Seems to be free parking though if you book direct ??
