I was disappointed. The house in my opinion is not well maintened. The walls need a fresh paint, the floor looks unclean and old. The bathroom door won't shut. One electricity outlet woulnt work and I couldntvplace the fan there. The bathroom was dirty and someone's soap and floss were left in the shelf. There were no soap or shampoo. The towels were so stiff it was hard to use them.I feel the for the price I paid which was the highest in Guatemala - it wasnt worth it.
AMAZING.
Perfectly clean, well equiped and so so cozy.
The views from the many many screened windows are wonderful.
The peace you feel here is lovely. I worked remotely most of my stay, wifi never failed and was fast.
Short lovely walk to the main hotel/restaurant (Tijax).
Hosts were so lovely and easy to communicate with in English and Spanish.
I loved my morning coffee watching horses play from the deck and hummingbirds feed from the beautiful garden.
I just loved it and will absolutely be back. 10/10
Great private cabin for a getaway far from the city and close to the nature. Cute wood little house!

Little yellow house
Our host went out of his way to pick us up at the bus stop and took us to the house. Gave us a short briefing. We looked around, my wife really liked the house and the area …as while we were walking distance to the town we were deep in the forest. The area is full of song birds. The property has a security guard and a large gate that is kept locked at night. It’s about 15 min walk to the main part of town but it’s an easy walk. A wonderful outdoors restaurant is less than 10 min away that serves good food at reasonable prices. Both my wife and I highly recommend the little yellow house as our 4 day stay was delightful.

Nice stay in Rio Dulcr
We had a really nice stay! Very kind hosts, good communication and a cute house on the farm. Clean facilities and free use of the pool and restaurant of the hotel nearby was a nice bonus.
A Hidden Gem in Rio Dulce!
We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Cute & Cozy Cabin! The name says it all—this cabin is truly cute and cozy, nestled in the stunning natural surroundings of Eugenio and his family’s beautiful property.
The cabin is part of Hacienda Tijax, which is a gorgeous piece of land full of natural wonders. From a serene natural pool to countless birds, scenic trails, and even horses, there’s so much to explore and enjoy. Despite being immersed in nature, the location is super convenient—just a short walk to Rio Dulce. It was the perfect place to spend four days soaking in the peaceful sounds of nature.
Eugenio, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful from start to finish. He made sure everything went smoothly, including picking us up by boat on arrival and dropping us off at the shuttle when we left. We also have to give a special shoutout to Ninet! She was amazing, helping us arrange a boat trip to Livingston and sharing plenty of great tips about the area.
This stay was absolutely fantastic—easily a 10/10 experience! If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in Rio Dulce, this is it. Highly recommend! 🌿✨
