Stayed at the IHG haydock hotel. No one at reception when we arrived, had to find someone to get checked in. Got to room and unpacked, put TV on no channels set up had to call reception to get someone to attend room to sort out. Room was cold and we could hear the traffic, next day I noticed the window was broken and wouldn’t stay closed allowing the freezing cold air in and noise. Reported this but couldn’t be sorted out until maintenance staff come in the next morning. Bathroom was mouldy and tired. At 2.30 am in the night people started slamming doors, woke us all up and couldn’t get back to sleep. I won’t being using IHG hotels again.

I stay here all the time when I’m working as it’s straight onto the M6 so location is great BUT it’s the staff that are always lovely & helpful especially the amazing Jackie who is always there at breakfast and literally makes you feel happy & comfortable as she is extremely professional

We had a issue with the room staff sorted the situation promptly. Staff were friendly special mention to Jacqueline at breakfast she was very welcoming and enjoyed talking to the children. The swimmimg instructor lady on saturday moaning was also lovely as she let the children play with swimming noodles.

We had an excellent stay. Stayed as a family with 7 and 5 year old visiting family. Room basic, but everything we needed, facilities on site are good and free parking too. My kids made good use of the pool. Good choices for everyone at breakfast. We have stayed before and will do again.

Room was excellent and a nice personal touch. Reception desk was friendly and personable. Breakfast was disappointing Lack of food basically and was told it was busy. Buffet style but not replenished enough. To me this was down to a host not communicating with the restaurant and then the kitchen. This was thirty minutes prior to end of service and looked like it was end of service. Hotel knows how many are staying and taking breakfast option so manage the flow or communicate to the kitchen to keep stock higher. Biggest problem was families with the inability to control their children. Please consider an area for just families so those wanting breakfast with some quiet can have breakfast without feeling like it was at a train station. Parenting has a lot to be desired which does affect other residents.
