The Heritage House experience is unique and being there to take in the whole property really should be the goal. The rooms are all great (been many times) and the staff super friendly and welcoming. The bedding is luxurious and the beds are “clouds!” Everything is well maintained and even the coffee is terrific!

First thing, the staff is absolutely wonderful. They made our Thanksgiving week an incredible holiday experience. Lovely folks from reception to the restaurant and cleaning staff. Our room was modern and very clean. The grounds and view are spectacular. We did not want to leave and neither did our beagle. We plan to come back in the spring.

We recently stayed at the Heritage House, and overall the property itself is beautiful — the grounds are stunning, the ocean views are incredible, and the location feels peaceful and relaxing. That said, the room experience didn’t quite match the charm of the property. The room was fairly basic compared to the premium setting, and we were surprised to learn that cleanings aren’t automatic; you have to specifically request them. Not a big deal in theory, but it’s one more thing to remember on vacation. We also ran into a couple of maintenance issues: the TV didn’t work, and neither did the in-room telephone. We ended up spending more time than we wanted troubleshooting things that should have just worked. Individually these are small inconveniences, but they added up and took away from the otherwise great environment. Heritage House has a lot of potential and a truly beautiful setting — with a bit more attention to room functionality and guest convenience, it could easily be a five-star stay.

Great place, great rooms, great setting. I had one of the higher end rooms and was frustrated by penny pinching measures such as food not being available on location at least during reasonable hours, or ordering breakfast à la carte and paying for it xtra. These seem to be reasonable expectations for a high end, largish resort, and even profitable if done right. The staff is great and they are genuinely pet friendly, although the pet fee was not at least clearly delineated by Orbitz. I actually regret changing hotels mid way through my stay.

This property is amazing. It has truly the most stunning views all around the property. Our room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff, especially the breakfast and restaraunt staff, were extremely friendly and gave us some great tips on what to do in the area. Would highly reccomend heritage house and we will certainly be back.

The breakfast was better than expected, with multiple options and a nice view. The room was very spacious, well furnished, and very comfortable. The location is perfect, just a 5 min drive from Mendocino town. The views from the hotel are also spectacular.

The cabins have been well renovated with comfortable beds, stylish furnishings and a large walk-in shower. It’s hard to beat the views from their extensive seacliff property. We waked the property every day and descended the stairs to their small beach at low tide. Their breakfast is generous and tasty, though they could improve their dinner selection. At night we thoroughly enjoyed cocktails at the bar for jazz cello and guitar (fabulous!) and piano on the other night.
