The hotel room is small and shared bathroom with strangers which I really don’t like! There’s no elevator or lift or any person in the hotel to help you carry your luggages up to the 4th floor, it’s all stairs! That’s why, lesson learned for us we missed to read this part! Don’t be fooled with the price and the pictures posted! Their dining area is small that’s why there’s a schedule time to get your breakfast, if the time you want is not available, too bad no breakfast for you! The hotel staffs are not friendly and accommodating as well, it’s probably a language barrier, it’s hard to understand!

The hotel was conveniently located. They were very accommodating in keeping our luggage safe before and after check in/out. We arrived before check in and were able to leave our luggage at the hotel while we walked around the area. After check out, we were able to leave our luggage safely while we did more sightseeing before boarding our train for our next area of Portugal. The breakfast was a great way to start our day. We were a group of 3 senior women and it was the perfect place to begin our journey. The only downside was lugging our luggage up the stairs to the 3rd floor, but I highly recommend this hotel.

I was quite disappointed with my stay. The staff were not very friendly or welcoming, which made the experience uncomfortable. The room was also difficult to access since there was no elevator, making it inconvenient to carry luggage. Additionally, the breakfast was of poor quality with very limited options. Overall, I expected a better level of service and comfort for the price.

Fantastic little hotel in the historic district. No need for a car. The hotel itself is clean and quiet and great views. The breakfast is fantastic. Definitely would stay here again but for those of you that have mobility issues I would say no as there is not an elevator and yes plenty of stairs.

No lift. If you’re travelling with heavy or large luggage it’s quite difficult to manage the stairs. Reception is on second floor. Breakfast time has to be booked the previous day.

Although it is undoubtedly in an excellent location, The first thing to note when booking is that the rooms are spread over five floors in an old building with 'no lift' so getting your luggage to the top floor can be quite daunting even if you're fit and well. When we finally opened the room door, it was fine, quite small, decent bed and en-suite ((but I'm not sure about all) and it also had a kettle...with just a couple of random tea bags...but no coffee/sugar , and this considering all its favourable reviews/awards was disappointing. But despite it's failings, we would recommend it.

What a great, quirky hotel right in the tourist area. When we arrived, by private taxi, we thought the driver had dropped us off at the wrong place... reason being... don't expect a glittery, jazzy, red-carpet hotel entrance. In fact, it's down a side street and looks like a private apartment block especially due to there being mailboxes in the doorway. You will face the first (of many!) flight of stairs with instructions stating Reception on 2nd floor. Trust me, go up! The small reception area is new, clean, smart and you'll meet very friendly staff to check in. Our room was on the 4th floor, oh boy, that meant 100 stairs in total with no lift/elevator. The building is historical but everywhere is clean and tidy. Some nice artwork to admire on the seven flights of stairs to our room. Our room (with private bathroom) was excellent. Clean, comfortable and quirky. Black-out curtains as well as sound-proof windows guaranteed a good night sleep. Whilst I mention the bathroom situation, I'd like to make a point as I've seen other reviews about this. Having stayed at the hotel and seen the 'shared' bathroom situation, believe me, if you're on a budget then definitely consider it as on our floor there were many secure showers and toilets which were spotlessly clean and modern. On our floor too (4th) we had a shared communal kitchette which we didn't expect but thought it was excellent. It contained a microwave, kettle, fridge freezer, crocery and cutlery.

Our flight arrived before checkin time, so we emailed the staff a day or so in advance. We were able to check in and they went out of their way to have the room ready as soon as possible for our use. The staff was very friendly and accomodating.

Room was very nice. Looked recently renovated. It was very noisy outside while trying to sleep. The metro entrance is right below and there were lots of yelling and sirens most of the night. It’s in a great location for walking. No elevator so have to carry luggage up the steps

Breakfast was fine, it is prebooked in 30 minute increments. The room and the facilities were very clean including the shared bathrooms. The location is convenient for transportation, restaurants, and shopping. It is important to be aware there is no elevator in the building.

Positive: Allowed check-in at 7 am after we arrived on a delayed red-eye flight. Negative: Refused late check-out past 11:30 am. Clerk at front desk simply said "that's impossible." No negotiation. Cleaning staff shouting in hallway during morning hours made it very difficult to sleep.
