This home was not ready for us when we arrived. Communication with the host was nonexistent - and only if I initiated. The day before we left home the host told me to call the person who would check me in. The grounds were not as pictured and were not maintained regularly. The home was being cleaned when we arrived but very outdated with maintenance deferred. I didn’t expect a new home - but the furniture was old and there was a musty smell throughout. Needed to air out and just wasn’t ready for us. We couldn’t stay. Good news is the host agreed to refund us so we were able to cancel. VRBO customer support assisted. I’m hoping they can make some improvements because the home can be lovely with proper attention. The area itself is very convenient and close to the beach.

Somewhat Disappointing

The inside of the property was as described. The photo of the outside of the property is fraudulently deceptive. There was no lawn - only dirt and weeks. With the winds, the pool was very dirty. The house instructions indicated a gas BBQ - we could not find one. Only a cement grill that would hold two pieces of meat at a time. When we arrived the front patio was littered with cigarette butts and bottle caps. We have used VRBO for out family vacations for years. This was our first disappointment.

Tired villa but in lovely location

We felt that the property needed a bit of upkeep: broken loo seats, only 5 sunbeds for 9 of us, no comfortable seating outside (dining chairs only) etc. Having said that it's a lovely property in a great location, the nearby beaches were fabulous. It's worth noting that to access one of the bedrooms you have to go outside the villa and there isn't a bathroom for that bedroom so it's a bit inconvenient at night, we hadn't appreciated this from the description until we read it again on arrival at the villa!

Heerlijk rustige omgeving en uitvalsbasis voor tripjes naar Sintra, Lissabon en de kust

Met ons gezin met volwassen kinderen en kleinkinderen was dit royale huis een heerlijke thuisbasis voor een 7-daagse vakantie. Er was meer dan voldoende servies. Veel ruimte rondom het huis. Grote parkeerplaats. Helaas was het zwembad te koud, maar het was eind oktober. De bedden waren te hard en de zitbanken te zacht. Maar overall hebben we genoten.

La estancia fue buena y la casa está muy bien equipada. La única cuestión que nos hubiera gustado es que la cancela de la entrada pudiera cerrarse con llave y que la habitación de arriba tuviese persianas para oscurecer.

Grote villa, welke wel wat onderhoud kan gebruiken. Prima locatie om prachtige regio te bezoeken, inclusief Lissabon. Auto is zeker handig in combinatie met prima geregeld en zeer aantrekkelijk geprijsd openbaar vervoer.

Mooi huis, goede locatie

Mooi ruim huis. Fijne ruime slaapkamers en lekker voor eind oktober wat fris zwembad. Vooral de ligging nabij een mooi kustgebied, Sintra en op relatief korte rijafstand van Lissabon maakt dit huis een aanrader. Vergeet vooral niet te gaan eten bij Bar do Fundo.
