Diogo and Cristina are outstanding hosts. The vibe is at once warm and familial while being polished and professional. The neighborhood is lively and hip but the noise is not an issue. Comfortable bed, super breakfast with ample options, and an unexpected courtesy terrace with beverage choices that are complementary with a simple gratuity of your choosing. I could not recommend this guest house higher - it’s an 11 on a 10 point scale! We will return and tell all of our friends. Muito obrigado!!

The staff was outstanding. Unfortunately, we could not share in the breakfast that was made as we had to get up and get out early. However, they provided us with a tremendous breakfast to go. They were extremely helpful in regards to information about the area. Loved their terrace area. Overall, very happy with the experience. Only issue is there seems to be a bit of street noise during the night.

The staff was outstanding! The most accommodating staff I've ever experienced. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The restroom, while private, was across the hall so unusual but easy enough. Breakfast made to order, complementary drinks (soft drinks, beer, wine). Great location, easy walk to nearly everything. Did I say the staff was great?

It’s the little things that make the stay

The guest house is very centrally located in the Bairro Alto. Many top attractions are within walking distance, including the Praça do Comércio, the Elevador de Santa Justa, and the Miradoura de São Pedro de Alcântara. Close to the Baxa-Chiado metro station and 800 m to the Cais de Sodré train station to Belem and Cascais. David and Diogo were so welcoming and helpful. They provided us with tips of places to visit and places to eat via WhatsApp too. Breakfasts were made to order each morning. We opted for omelets for a couple of our mornings but they could also make pancakes. A variety of teas were on hand, as well as special coffees, and fresh squeezed juices. Of special note is the patio with its courtesy bar with beer, wine, cider, gin, vodka, Johnny Walker Red, Bailey’s, soft drinks, and traditional Portuguese Ginja. It’s free but you’re encouraged to leave a tip to help pay for it. The rooms are spacious, updated and have air conditioning. The bathroom was very large. The only downside is the street noise below. We were in room 6 on the street side. Though it is off the main street, there are quite a few restaurants and bars on this street and revellers stay out very late. Bring earplugs if noise bothers you. Well worth the stay if you’re in Lisbon!

Quiet spot right in the middle of bairro alto. A unique experience where you can meet other guests on the patio and at breakfast. The staff was the best, welcoming and always ready to help.

Staying at LR Guest was incredible and exceeded expectations. The entire staff was hospitable and welcoming and treated us like we were family friends staying at their house. David made a delicious breakfast which was a chance to talk to him and receive recommendations (many of which we tried out and thoroughly enjoyed) as well as talk to other guests. Enjoyed the mini bar with chairs outside which was a fun way to end the night. The area nearby can get loud at night but it is walkable and such a fun place. We enjoyed our stay so much and it was a great start to our trip. HIGHLY recommend staying at LR Guest!!

Above and beyond would be an understatement for the LR guest house. We had a short stay but even in that time the staff made us feel like family and made our time here great. The room was spacious and clean, homemade breakfast was delicious (everything from the kitchen was great - even the late night snacks). Very walkable area. Will definitely be coming back.

This charming guesthouse was the perfect spot for our stay. The house is located centrally and a short walk to everything. The entrance requires you to ring a bell and someone will come down and open the front door. So much to see in the area. Our hosts David & Diogo were amazing. From assisting us with excursions - which were amazing - the tuk tuk and the private tour to Sintra and places to eat and see. The breakfasts prepared by David were outstanding and the selection of items is amazing-the orange cake with walnuts was to die for and made fresh. Morning conversations were wonderful as well learning about out hosts and about Lisbon. Our room was a corner suite - lots of windows and a great juilette balcony - windows kept night noise out. Bed was super comfy and bathroom had everything we need. There is even a coffee maker and small fridge in your room plus a safe as well. When we arrived in the early morning - they stored our luggage and after a small breakfast and a quick change we were able to head out exploring. This place makes it feels like you are staying in a home with friends. Would highly recommend ❤️

I have nothing but praise for the LR Guest House in Lisbon. Much preferred over a hotel! It is so much cozier, friendlier and has so many thoughtful touches. As a solo traveller, I was very well cared for from the moment I arrived. The environs were quite noisy after about 8 pm, but the earplugs provided worked like a charm! I highly recommend this place!

It’s quiet and clean. Staff are wonderful and caring. We loved Milena’s cooked breakfasts. Despite being in a noisy neighbourhood, it’s very quiet. The location is excellent as Tram 28 is just down the road.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at LR Guesthouse. The staff were so kind, friendly and could not have been more helpful. Particularly loved the breakfasts cooked fresh for you every morning and the outdoor terrace area with bar was such a lovely touch! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if we return to Lisbon.

Everything about LR Guest House was terrific! Diogo and David were wonderful. It's centrally located with lots of great restaurants, shops, and other points of interest. The building itself is charming, and the rooms are pleasant and well appointed. There are a lot of bars in the area, and some late night happenings, especially on the weekend. Even so, the rooms were quiet and comfortable. It was nice to feel like you're in the middle of the action, but still have a quiet, restful place you can retreat to. I especially enjoyed to cooked-to-order breakfast and the opportunity to meet other guests in the shared kitchen and dining area. Highly recommend!

My stay at the LR Guesthouse was fantastic! Milena was absolutely lovely and provided great recommendations and such a hospitable environment. Breakfast was delicious and the room was great. I highly recommend and will be back next time I’m in Lisbon!
