The apt was very comfortable and clean, with lots of light, generous closet space, and well-located in the Castelo area of the Alfama. The Tourist Information Office is located at the corner of the street which was very helpful. Maria suggested a wonderful restaurant around the corner for our first meal (lunch), and this led to an evening performance of enjoyable fado at a restaurant within walking distance down the hill.Wifi in the apt, however, was spotty. One important note to make your arrival easier: the manager told us that only taxis or residents' cars have access to the area (for there are bollards blocking entrances). We thought Ubers were included, but they weren't. Later my taxi to the airport, arranged by the Tourist Office to avoid the access problem, was only able to come up the hill to the bus stop (#727, I think), about 50 meters down from the Castelo. If you are carrying or wheeling heavy bags on the cobblestone streets, this is helpful information to know.(PS There was no vineyard visit so I am unsure why this question was included.)

We had an amazing stay! It felt like a magical place to stay. We really appreciated the personal touch of being met by the hostess. She gave also us some great tips on the local area.The hills in the surrounding area are steep for walking which is no problem if your prepared for that. We had to walk a little ways from where we got dropped off due to the fact of limited access by car. If you have lots of luggage this could be a challenge to haul these up the hill. We would highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again if we come back to Lisbon!

Inside the walls of the Castle so access was a little challenging at night, but instructions of host helped us get the best taxi access to our unit. Some trouble with instructions and lock box to access. Once inside it was wonderful. Perfect place to stay to launch our Portugal experience.

Centrally located in Alfama right by the castle

Great apartment, clean and close to everything. Host was very responsive as well. Couple things that we experienced is only the local residents and/or taxis are allowed in the area so we had to haul luggage uphill when we got dropped off. We also had a car and highly discouraged in having a car in this area as the streets are narrow and finding a parking close to the apartment is very difficult. There is also no air conditioning in the apartment.

Great location. Clean. Nice size.

This is a clean, recently renovated apt in an old building on a narrow quiet street very close to the Castelo de São Jorge. It has a long stairway and the street is to narrow for cars. If you are in an Uber rather than a taxi you will have to walk up(and I mean up) a few cobblestone blocks to reach the address but it's worth it.

A great place at a great rate. We really enjoyed our time at this property (our third in Lisbon during our Portugal trip). It was very close to everything we wanted to see and do, a block or two away from the castle and great shops and restaurants, but tucked far away enough that we never noticed the big tourist crowds. The peacocks' calls sounded far away and more like a perfect nighttime backdrop than a nuisance. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely flat for 2. A bit tricky to find initially but position is fab. Loads to do close by. No noise at night despite being very close to restaurants etc Tip. Take a cab from the airport!

We enjoyed our time near the castle. Lots of great walking trips and convenient location to elevators to get downtown and grocery store. Flat was very nice and comfortable. Only two small suggestions for improvement-replace pillow cases as one is quite thread-bare; provide a small paring knife as the serrated bread knife does not work well on hard vegetables.

Bright apartment, top of the hill

We loved this little apartment. The tiny street was quaint and the neighborhood was quiet at night (but very busy with tourists during the day—we were gone all day so it didn’t bother us). Learning about the public elevators that get you most of the way up the hill was a game-changer. If you’re not able-bodied, this isn’t probably a good spot for you, but we found it a lovely place to stay for our 4 day trip to Lisbon. The apartment was clean, bright & comfortable!

Great Apartment

Was a great place to stay in Lisbon - close to lots of sites. Nice unit in a quiet area. Very clean and well maintained. The host/property manager was great and made the process easy along with the person who met me for check in. Would recommend this place!

Kalathos house 4 apartment was very good overall

My wife and I enjoyed our stay in the apartment. We liked having a separate bedroom, eating area, and small living room. It was quiet at night for sleeping, and the bed was comfortable. It's in a great location near the castle, shops and restaurants on a nice narrow little street, but is quite an uphill hike to get there on foot! The bathroom was small but adequate, and it looks like there is a planned washing machine in the kitchen which would have been nice to have. I would recommend this apartment to others. Be sure to go to Claras em Castelo restaurant just around the corner!

Accommodations were as expected. Photos and description were accurate. Host responded immediately and addressed minor issue with TV. Only issues were the towels. One bath and one hand towel per person. No hand soap in wc to start the visit. Otherwise, we enjoyed our 3 week stay.

Wonderful little apartment, lots of hills

The apartment is as advertised. It's perfect for one person and probably fine for a couple. Be aware that traffic is restricted into the area so you will always be walking uphill for a distance when returning from your day. Nevertheless it is a great place to stay with lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

Excellent location and price

Wow, great space!!! Newly renovated all interior is sparkling and well laid out. You only turn left when going out of the apartment, then a right and you are at the castle de Saint George! Incredible, a block away! Our host is wonderfully prompt and answered questions immediately. The Alfama district of Lisbon was very fun has a wonderful bakery and several restaurants. Be ready to go up and down winding streets - but most of Lisbon is like that and you will enter the castle of Saint Jorge arch as you round the block to the apartment! We stayed for four days and wished we could have stayed longer as there are 12 sites and or activities within walking distance!

Logement très bien placé

La literie de la chambre est très bien. Le couchage dans le canapé est correct. Logement très bien situé a deux minutes à pied du château, a proximité d une très bonne boulangerie et au calme. Il y a néanmoins un problème d évacuation de l eau dans la douche et d humidité dans la salle de bain malgré la ventilation. Accueil rapide et assez succinct.

Location of the house is excellent, close to a lot of key points of interest. Gives a great feel for the city. It is in a non-drivable portion for non-residents so packing light helps. The house was clean and had all the amenities. Overall an excellent experience.
