The hotel was overall very clean and tidy, the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to stay on the top floor with a balcony over looking the street, the room was stunning with a huge space and amazing shower!

If you’re traveling to Lisbon in winter and want to stay in Alfama, do yourself a favor and book this hotel. We stayed in a 5-star Airbnb for the first half of our trip and it was honestly miserable (no fault of the host). Most buildings are very old, and heating is minimal—if you’re used to U.S. heating systems, it can be really hard to adjust. It’s also very common that you can’t run more than one appliance at a time. We spent the second half of our stay at this hotel, and what a difference. We finally slept in a warm room. Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side, but for two people we were perfectly comfortable. The location is unbeatable—right in the middle of everything. Alane at the front desk went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, which truly made all the difference. Thank you Alane

The staff was great, the room was clean, and a terrific breakfast. However, the thermostat in the room couldn't be adjusted (by us or staff) resulting in the room was exceedingly hot so we had to open the window to the noisy street effecting our sleep. Not much area in the room to put suitcases or hang stuff. The hotel was in a great location!
