Loved the room! It was nicely appointed. It was safe. The location was perfect. However, just outside our window was a discount Bar where patrons spilled out onto the street and partied until 2-3am. We did not get much sleep.

Location was great, on the main Street in Bairro Alto. Check in was very easy..The place was nicely decorated but we can see there was a lack of maintenance. The edges were not clean and there was mold on the walls. We can also hear the other guests in the building.

Good size, very clean, great shower. Sadly it was very noisy at night. We were there Saturday to Monday and every night the bar in the alley outside our window had people drinking, partying very loudly until 3am every night if our stay. Such a a shame as room was great and Bairro Alto was a good location

Bairro Alto Guesthouse

It was my first time in Lisboa although I was born in Portugal have not been here in 40 years it’s been my husband’s 17th. time & he was born in Lisboa so he’s been showing me all around this beautifully historic city. We loved our room & how close it was to everything!!!!

Guest house is a 10 minute walk from the historic district and just a minute away from the iconic Lisbon funicular. The area has plenty of restaurants and a park which gives a great view of the city.

Clean, fresh, modern room with all of the basics in an amazing location. Bed and linens were all comfy and new.Tram and park with an amazing view right across the street. Stores, laundromat and restaurants close by. Access was easy. Nothing fancy and location is self hosted. Just a nice clean comfortable affordable room in a gorgeous neighborhood. Highly recommend if you want something simple and affordable in an amazing neighborhood.

This “hotel” is more like a cool dorm and there’s no reception. You are supposed to receive some codes via email a couple of days before arrival that allow access to the building and the room. I never received the codes and I met 2 other guests that also did not receive codes. Making calls to obtain the codes was not fun. The rooms are nice, but worn- a lot of mildew in the bathroom. The noise levels are awful. The room entrance doors are not gasketed, so light and noise from the hallway is endless. As to be expected in Lisbon, there were a lot of party people, so the noise from fellow guests never stops. I still think a good value and the woman that cleans is great- very helpful!

Bring ear plugs and more ear plugs.

If you want to stay up all night, I recommend this place highly. Park across the street was noisy, street noise was atrocious, and my wife and I didn't get a wink of sleep.

The property was very clean and well maintained. The only negatives were that the first night we arrived, a Saturday , it was very noisy till about 2 am. The source of the noise was outside the area of this establishment but in the same building. The other was that there was almost no storage space in the unit. Hence the 4 rather than 5.

Hotel was ok, really easy room, not perfect clean, but not so bad, but it was really really loud!! Even with the windows closed it was really loud. Location was ok but a lot of stairs, for my mother was really hard

This is a comfortable and simple property. It is extremely well located to the downtown neighborhoods and immediately adjacent to the very lovely and elegant Miradouro de São Pedro de Alcântara. The adjacent side streets are very popular and loud at night for young tourist looking for cheap drinks, but the windows and walls were well insulated to keep most of the noise out. If you are a light sleeper, you should consider bringing a white noise machine. AC in room was a great feature. Shampoo and toiletry amenities are minimal, so consider bringing your own if you are particular.
