Check in was very slow, not very welcoming and the room needed work. Broken floor tiles, no wash cloths, not enough plugs to charge devices. Very dated place over all. Wouldn’t recommend

The front desk was courteous and helpful. Grounds are lovely with a large clean pool. The room is adequate, water pressure low in shower but clean, comfy yet firm beds, air conditioner that cooled the room nicely. Had a late night snack at the bar, nachos were delicious. The server was alone and probably needs another server for the number of people. Breakfast was good, nice options. Over all, a great find.

The hotel/motel is an ecofriendly location with a garden area containing turtles and tree frogs. The combination of friendly helpful staff, good food and wildlife made for an overall great tropical experience.

We had a great stay at the Las Espuelas Hotel. The people were super helpful and friendly. Pool was nice and clean. Service was great, the facilities were clean but moderate. Breakfast was super and at night we could relax at the restaurant and bar. The only draw back was that there is nothing around the hotel and for every trip we needed a car.

I just wanted to say that other than the hotel being a little rundown (at least in the rooms). It was super convenient, close to amenities and the airport. It was perfect for an overnight stay before heading out of town. Also the staff were super helpful and graciously patient with our limited Spanish. But that seemed to be the norm everywhere in Costa Rica.
