We have traveled 7,600 miles across this country in the last three weeks. We stay at pet friendly hotels because we travel with one small Boston Terrier who has NEVER had an accident in a hotel. We have no problem paying a reasonable pet fee. We have previously stayed at a Spark hotel on this trip where the pet fee has always been $25 per dog. This hotel owner charges $75 per pet with a $50 deposit. We paid MORE to have our 20lb. pet stay at the hotel than we did for us to stay at the hotel. Plus, when we entered the room we reserved, the bed had been slept in and the previous guest’s trash was still in the room. The gentleman at the front desk was courteous and explained that the unusually high pet fee is because the Hilton brand required the owner to allow pets to stay, and because of this ruling, the hotel owner jacked the fee up so high in order to prevent people from staying here with their pet. However, one would not know this if booking online because the pet fee is not listed online. We were also unable to speak to a representative at this specific hotel when trying to call the hotel directly to make our reservation. Very disappointed in this specific Spark by Hilton Hotel.
