Wow! That's the reaction my family and I had about our stay at Villa Kalina, from the moment we drove through the gates to our regretful departure. The pictures don't do it justice. This is a family who has high standards - my husband was a luxury hotel brand exec for 20 years. We traveled with two adult children, so each had their own mini-villa suite in addition to our master suite. Three individual suites with king beds and doors opening onto the pool was perfect for a group of adults. The kitchen was well-equipped (although the stove and cooktop design is not intuitive), the towels were soft and large, the loungers were comfortable and chic, the split air conditioning worked great, the water pressure and shower temps were perfect, the beds were comfortable, the wardrobes were ample, and the fully fenced/gated property and guard at the entrance to Terres Basses offered security and serenity. The large fridge, dishwasher, and washing machine were a plus. A short walk to the beach revealed a spectacular, unspoiled stretch of sand and views. There were never more than 12 people (and their sweet, swimming dogs) on the long beach at a time, and we often had it to ourselves. Although spontaneous, we welcomed the visits from someone who watered the tropical garden and another person who cleaned the pool during our stay, The concierge, Baptiste, was responsive, kind, and helpful. We hope to return to "our" villa by the sea some day soon. Merci pour une experience inoubliable!
