What did I like? This time around not much. A shout out to housekeeping doing a great job. My 8th stay here and a disappointing one.The room--a exterior entry unit in the original section of the motel dating I would guess the 1960s--was fair. Entry from the parking lot to the room was a plus but the uninsulated original wood door needs new seals (cold air roared underneath it all night). The bathroom was ok and remodeled in the last 5 years but beat up with chipped woodwork and peeling wallpaper and a very cold tile floor (no insulation underneath). It felt shabby. The nice hot tub shower partially made up for that. And the bed was good. Note this was a ground floor unit and because there is a floor above and it's an old building the ceiling above squeaked all night with the movements of the occupant up there. It kept me up. If you book book in the newer section of the Yankee in the addition off the back with hallway access only where these annoyances are less prominent. I've always stayed in that section and had pleasant stays. And lastly the breakfast has declined. It wasn't ready at 6:30 as advertised and I missed it twice.

We were in town for the Naumkeag Winter Lights event. Jennifer greeted us warmly and explained the amenities thoroughly. We had a king room which was clean and comfortable. It was so nice to have real coffee cups and drinking glasses in the room. The breakfast was excellent--lots of hot and cold choices. I wish I had time to visit the pool and hot tub--very inviting! Parking is free and safe. The room price was very reasonable. We will visit again!!

This is our second time here and it was fantastic. Always super clean, great amenities,and staff is always nice and respectful. My fiance and I will be coming here once or twice a year, every year. Staff was very good. Room is clean and very comfortable and the bed is very good. Complementary breakfast is basic but adequate. Only relatively small complaint is that despite the hotel being lightly populated, a loud couple (no fault of the hotel's) was placed in the next door room and were disturbing. Most probably, guests could have been spread out.
