Not a great place to stay.

Absolutely diabolical in every way. Like the worst doss house. You've got to go and check this place out. Its a stinking hole. And this is an understatement. I felt sick when I left.

Did what I needed it to do.

Stayed overnight for the races in the nearby town. Hotel looks very run down, but the staff were very friendly and could not fault that. Rooms were very dated, but beds were clean and very comfortable. Brother in law was threatened to be stabbed at the petrol station over the road, and some really sketchy charecters were sat outside the hotel, but that is not the hotels fault. It is clear to see they are trying to do the best they can with what they have.

absolutely disgusting treatment at hotel. after booking online he refused to let us in the hotel room unless i paid double the price of the booking in cash, he did ent like the look of us he said photo id was needed, which was not mentioned on the booking . appalling behaviour this man needs sacking . i will not ve booking again

We booked a last minute overnight stay at this hotel after attending a wedding because driving conditions were very bad. Parked in a disabled bay (which was nowhere near the entrance of the hotel). There were a few people sitting on the floor outside, quite intoxicated (drunk or on drugs I don’t know) but they wondered why we would want to stay somewhere like this and that it wasn’t a hotel, they just rented rooms out. We were given a key to a 3rd floor room despite being disabled when the lift wasn’t working and we had musical equipment my daughter had to carry 3 flights of stairs. There was lots of noise coming from rooms and the smell of cigarette smoke everywhere. Our door had wet polyfilla filling a hole that once had a door lock but could easily be pushed through. We were already feeling very unsafe, due to some of the guests hanging around but nothing could prepare us for what we saw when we opened the door. A dirty room with drawers hanging open, dirty duvet over a chair but to top it off there was actually no bed!! Just a dirty carpet with a cleaner patch where once a bed had been. The bathroom had a dirty towel on the floor and a dirty used razor on the side and the whole thing was like a drug addicts room. Even had there been a bed, we could never as 2 females, felt safe in there but the fact you could smell cigarettes meant that smoke alarms weren’t working or even absent altogether. We left and drove home in torrential rain rather than staying. Disgusting

The only good point was that the bed was clean & comfortable. The general cleanliness of the room was poor, marks on the walls, tape remnants on one of the windows as well as spiders & thick webs, carpet coming apart. The pool although closed was in a disgusting condition, the lift was out of order (at least for 2 months) so having to carry luggage & a 1 year old was ridiculous !!! My rooms electronic door handle was defective, so they'd fitted a yale lock. The owners need to spend a lot of money to gring it anywhere near how a 3* should be. Oh & no breakfast being available is ridiculous also. Plus the outside needs serious maintenance...

Its a bed for the night nothing more

Cheap and cheerful. Dont expect the Ritz for £80 a night. Room was spotless if a bit dated. Shower wasnt great, but the water was hot and thats all that matters.

A pleasant stay but first impressions were poor.

The Greyhound is a place with potential that has been allowed to decline by its previous owners. The rooms are a decent size, the bathroom is good with a good sized bath, the bed was reasonably comfortable. Service was good and when there was a leak in the bathroom I was immediately given another room without question. The location is convenient for visiting both Manchester and Liverpool, Port Sunlight, etc. But there is no restaurant or bar on site nor is there one in convenient walking distance.

Hotel is very basic,needs totally refurbishing, carpets,and furniture badly stained. No restaurant or bar. Staff were friendly. Only stayed one night, glad I didn't have to stay longer. No amenities close by. If you need just a one night stay,its ok. The hotel itself still advertise a pool,bar and restaurant. Which is false. I wouldn't stay again.

Not bad but defo could improve

Receptionist was a bit arrogant, not very welcoming. Room was lovely, shower could do with upgrade as no pressure behind it. Had no anti slip mat for in shower and no outer mat so nearly slipped getting out of shower. Windows were broken so had no fresh air. Fan was dusty on blades. Makeup on walls near mirror.

Even for the cheap price, this was poor. The corridors smelt bad; the bed was the worst I've ever slept in; when I tried to make a cup of tea. the mug poured boiling water everywhere through cracks; the TV didn't work. Do you need to know more?
