Modern hotel with lovely rooms

It’s about a 15 min walk to the city centre. Parking is limited but the hospital multi storey gives good safe parking opposite. The hotel is modern the queen room was ample no need to pay extra for a king and shower was fantastic. Great bar and food was also excellent. Definitely would go back.

Pros: Close to the railway station, rooms seem updated, breakfast selection was lovely (although the same for all days we stayed there), and the cleaning staff did a good job of swiftly cleaning the rooms each day. Cons: When we checked in our pillows smelled like body odor, we didn't really think of speaking to staff until the next day but when they were replaced, we *knew* the pillows were old when we arrived. We asked for a cot via the chat weeks before arrival but still, when we got there, there was no cot. When the cot came, the gentlemen offered to set it up but told us that they don't provide mattresses... which it's really just a playpen. He gave us towels and some bedding, which I'm pretty sure if a child is small enough, would be even more dangerous than a mattress. The washroom is 3-in-1, with no visible separation between the shower, toilet, and sink. Definitely would have to stay here as a family, otherwise, sharing a room with a friend or colleague would be rather awkward. There is no shower curtain nor glass, making the water go all over the floor. Not sure why it is designed this way. STILL, we give this property 4 out of 5 stars as it was generally quite lovely.

We really liked the hotel, the room was very clean and stylish. The car park was secure, however, the surrounding area left us feeling uneasy due to the close proximity to the prison. One recently released prisoner tried to latch onto our family and join us for dinner whilst we were walking to a restaurant which left us all feeling uneasy especially the children. Whilst I am minded to think that it could have happened anywhere, and it was off hotel property the proximity of the hotel to the prison definitely contributed to this experience.

Great stay extra bar staff needed

Excellent room, really friendly staff, one issue for management is that 2 bar staff really struggled to cope with serving and dishwashing so the dishwashing took 2nd place and the staff used plastic containers. No complaints from the staff but one to check for on a game night.

Nice.. would stay again!

Was nice, clean and friendly staff. Wish they would’ve told us we had to use one of our keys to get electric on in the room. Took us a good 5 to 10 minutes to figure it out! If they are from the UK yes they probably know but since other countries don’t have this. It was nice and eco though!
