A historic hotel for sure, however, we learned the hotel was built in the 1870s and it really did show. The building shows all of its age with sagging floors, leaning staircases, exposed and rusted sprinklers, and countless instances of water damage and cracking from building shifts. The staff was fine and we have no complaints there and the room was clean, but the property is in need of repair and renovation.

In truly haunted fashion, after a loud train horn blared through town, a blood-curdling scream was heard from what sounded like a little girl. Was this part of the paranormal lore or just a mad toddler? The property is charming, taking you back to the olden days. The staff seemed generally unconcerned with a line of people at the front desk as they did other things before acknowledging or welcoming guests. However, they were friendly and helpful once they were ready to engage. Breakfast consisted of vouchers for $4.50 to either an Herbalife sales front attached to the hotel with shakes masquerading as healthy or a delightful Turkish restaurant with a mouth watering menu that was somehow only serving drinks and desserts for breakfast or one other diner that didn't open until 9. The voucher idea is nice but a bit impractical for anyone with places to go in the morning. The rooms and all common spaces were clean and updated in a way that maintained the vintage feel of the hotel.

Nice place to stay in the heart of the town

This is a quality motel right in the heart of downtown. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortable but a bit old fashioned. No vent in the bathroom so everything got very wet from the steam. Not as many modern conveniences as you find in other places, but still very charming.

Nice hotel, excellent staff. Biggest downfall is there was no air conditioning in the rooms. I get it’s an old hotel but opening the windows just wasn’t enough. I would definitely staff there again however.

Excellent front office staff. Second floor landing floor was slanted and so was the banister. Cobwebs and spiders on lamps on landings, rust in tubs and sinks, kinda creepy. Had to put a towel at the bottom of the door so people couldn’t see in as my door had a large gap. On third floor there was a staircase that hard trash cans hiding around the corner as if it was storage.
