La Maison Cavendish is a beautiful early 19th century manor house (a ‘maison bourgeoise’) close to the pretty town of Argenton-sur-Creuse and the stunning Creuse valley.

The rooms are bright and spacious with high ceilings and traditional character and charm. It overlooks the swimming pool set in over an acre of garden made private by mature trees and large shrubs. The open kitchen and triple aspect dining area is made for family parties and evenings with friends.

The local town of Argenton-sur-Creuse — known as the ‘Venice of Berry’ — has beautiful riverside walks, restaurants, shops, boutiques, cafes and museums.

Further afield you have the stunning local countryside, the beautiful Creuse Valley (known as the ‘valley of the painters’ thanks to its popularity with Monet and other impressionists), and a large lake with water sports. The lush rolling hills and quiet roads are ideal for walking and cycling.

Our house has super fast fibre internet, games, bikes, sports equipment and books to keep you entertained. Or just relax by the beautiful pool set in our quiet enclosed parkland garden.

Perfect family holiday

Perfect house very well equipped, perfect location absolutely beautiful area and town we all had a truly lovely holiday. Could have wished for a little cooler but the swimming pool late afternoon in the shade was lovely. We would definitely like to return. Dlll

La maison était super, la piscine en plein milieu du jardin très facile d'accès, plein de jeux à disposition pour les enfants (et les adultes), et pleins de belles choses à visiter autour ! La maison est vraiment charmante, toute la famille l'a adoré et en est tombée amoureuse. Les propriétaires sont réactifs et à l'écoute des besoins. Nous le referons sans hésiter les prochaines années !!

We had a wonderful stay at Maison Cavendish! The house was ample big enough for two familes (4 adults, 4 teenagers plus dog). The house is tastefully decorated and very well-equipped and includes a summer kitchen. We enjoyed bbqs by the pool. There is plenty to keep you occupied in the local area for a week. We visited the nearby lake and hired electric boats, canoes, and SUPs. We went canoeing at Hotel du Lac. The communication with Richard was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend!

Nous avions loué loué cette maison pour nous retrouver tous en famille. Très beau domaine, clos de mur avec bel espace extérieur. Maison ancienne avec charme. Nous avons été surpris car les lits ont des tailles britanniques, inadaptés pour des personnes mesurant plus d'1m80. Il se trouve également que nous avons été confronté à un problème avec la piscine. Cela a été réglé avec les propriétaires mais nous avons mis 4 jours a pouvoir nous baigner. Nous restons néanmoins sur un séjour agréable
