Owner booked again and left us without a hotel during F1

We booked in May and then realized we had a family anniversary celebration in Nov. We knew we couldn't cancel so we asked owner to list it and if he gets it rented we would not loose the money. He said he would do that. Checked back in in end of July and he said he has it listed and would let us know. Didn't let us know. We decided to take the trip. Arrived at the location after VRBO sent a confirmation. Called for check in code and he had rented without telling us. He didn't tell us he re rented it until I called at 5pm the night of check in. Then he said he would send refund. Can you believe it! Now we are in Vegas with no reservation.
Stayed 5 nights in Nov 2023
