Staff very nice with warm greetings at arrival. Good sized room (#312) with a view out the back of a bank and post office. For a room advertised to sleep 4 (two double beds,) room only had 1 chair, no Kleenex, a very small TV, no clock, only one mirror (which is in the bathroom) and a super low toilet (maybe 14 inches in height) and certainly not ADA compliant. Good luck finding wall outlets to charge your various electronic devices. We stayed on a Monday, and the in-house restaurant/bar is closed on Mondays, conveniently not mentioned on their website.

From the lobby to the rooms, the hotel is beautiful and really charming--a true gem! Staff were courteous and welcoming. My adult son stayed in room 310 and the room lived up to its reputation!

The facility was lovely....the front desk staff was very attentive and helpful. The room was clean, and I realize this is an old hotel and it has quite the charm. My comments are just things to consider as we enjoyed our stay. It was a cold evening and there was very thin bedspreads with no blankets. There was ample room to store a couple of blankets in the room. Also, the bathroom utilities were very clean, however, the floor in the bathroom was outdated old vinyl with what appeared like "cigarette burns" where the shower was and made it appear as if it was dirty. And the baseboards in the carpeted area of the bathroom were heavy with accumulated dust. We enjoyed the nostalgia, and the holiday decor was very welcoming. We would return.

Its such a cute hotel with its own flavor/vibe. Big room, nice and clean and everyone was super friendly. Its pet friendly too, and they also host pet adoption events for the local shelter on Sunday. I really recommend supporting this locally run hotel chain -- a significant landmark and piece of history for the area.

We enjoyed our stay. The room was better than our last one we stayed in. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom cleaner. The hotel can definitely use a remodeling. My husband is 6’ 2” and the toilet s waaaay too low to the ground. I’m 5’3” and still feel it’s way tooo low.

Fabulous authentic old hotel with all the period pieces, lots of terrific furniture and books galore! The location is great and the stay was enjoyable. I look forward to staying there again. The only thing that would be warranted is - the carpet is rather worn, especially on the staircases and ***IN THE ELEVATOR***! Otherwise, the old place is charming.

A very cool place. So many antiques and books lining the hallways. The only disappointment was that the restaurant doesn’t open until eight in the morning and that was a little late for me considering I was trying to eat early and take off to do some running then come back before checkout. But as it turns out the restaurant opened about 15 minutes early, but I don’t think you can count on that. There was coffee in the lobby in the morning, which was really good. At least the room I stayed in there was no coffee making apparatus and no microwave and no refrigerator as it turns out I didn’t need those, but there are times that It would be nice to have something like that. Overall, I love the place. I thought it was super cool and the next time I’m in that area I’d like to stay there for a few days rather than just overnight.
