The Lake House - Lake Tekapo

Perfectly positioned on an iconic site beside the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Collie Dog statue, the property is just across the road from the Lake Tekapo foreshore.

Enjoy breathtaking views in this stunning setting, just a five-minute walk from the village and shopping centre.

There is 1 king bedroom plus 1 twin bedroom (2 single beds); 1 newly renovated bathroom with shower and toilet; spacious lounge and gorgeous sun room with unobstructed views to the lake. A fully equipped kitchen means you can prepare all meals from the cottage should you wish to. Please note this does not mean that food/drink is provided.

We are available to be contacted should you need us, otherwise we’ll leave you to enjoy the peace and quiet!

Minutes walk from the heart of Lake Tekapo. As far as the lake itself is concerned, you can not get any closer! It’s right at your doorstep.

Parking available on site. Minutes walk from everything Tekapo has to offer.

Late check out fee is applied for late checkout past 11am ($40) as we lose our slot with cleaners.

If you enjoy cold water plunging, walk off the lawn and down to the freezing Lake Tekapo glacial water.

Mary Mac`s Lake House is our family holiday house and a home we take great pride in. Please treat it with the utmost respect and the same care you would give your own home.

Check-in & check-out

Check-in from 2pm, check-out by 10:00am
We recommend arriving before sunset. Tekapo is a Dark Sky Reserve with no street lights.

Parking

Parking is provided at the front left corner of the property. Please do not park on the grass.
Keep the shared driveway clear at all times.

Respect the neighbours

Quiet hours are 10pm to 7am
No parties or events

Smoking & fire safety

Strictly no smoking anywhere on the property. This is a high fire-risk area, and fines of up to $5,000 may apply.
Hanging fire (Naked Flame bioethanol): Our cleaner fuels the fire before your arrival. Close the lid when you`re finished to put out the flame. Do not refuel it, and never put wood, paper or any other objects in it.

Spa pool

Please shower before use, and don`t use soaps or shampoos in the water.
Secure the spa cover after every use.
Please don`t change the temperature or turn the spa off.

Keeping the house tidy

Place all rubbish in the outside bins (Red – general waste, Yellow – recycling, Blue – glass only).
Wash and put away all dishes, pots, pans and utensils before departure.
Flush only toilet paper.

Cleaning fee
Failure to follow these rules may result in a $250 cleaning fee. Thankfully, guests who leave the place looking like a rock band stayed are very rare. Thanks for not being one of them!
