High Peaks Resort is on the main street through Lake Placid, putting it within walking distance of a broad seletion of restaurants, bars and shops. We had a balcony view, but never looked outside because it was usually dark by the time we got back from skiing. The pool and jacuzzi also looked nice, but we never got a chance to try it out. Staff was friendly.

My husband and I visited High Peaks in December with our two young children and had the best time. There was so much to do in town to keep the kids entertained, dog sled riding, playing in the snow, getting hot chocolate, and our time in the hotel was even more special. The staff went out of their way to engage with the kids, gave them crafts to create while we sat by the fire, and then indoor pool was fantastic! Could not recommend more.
