We've paired Cardinal Cottage and Hummingbird House on one lakefront property, so your group gets time together and space apart: 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 7, just minutes from Chimney Rock.



The Space:

THE SPACE

The Nest is two homes on one piece of Lake Lure shoreline. Cardinal Cottage is the main home, which we recently renovated after Helene. Hummingbird House is a cozy tiny home with a loft bedroom. Each has its own living area with a sleeper sofa, so friends or multi-generational families can gather on the decks and still retreat to their own corner. You'll have Smart TVs and WiFi, air conditioning and heating, a dedicated workspace, and a private entrance.

• Bathrooms: 2 full bathrooms across the two homes. We provide fresh linens and towels, plus extra pillows and blankets.



KITCHEN & DINING

Between the two homes you'll have a full kitchen and a kitchenette setup, so you can cook one big group dinner or make breakfast separately. You'll find a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and mini fridge. We also stock cooking basics, dishes and silverware, a coffee maker and coffee, and wine glasses for sunset toasts. Eat at the dining table indoors or outside on the patio with the gas grill and outdoor dining area.



OUTDOORS

This is where The Nest shines. Walk to the dock, where you can sit and watch the water, and take the 2-person kayak out on the lake. Back at Cardinal Cottage, the hot tub overlooks the lake, and the rooftop deck has a fire table for evenings under the stars. There are additional patios and seating areas to claim, plus a hammock, a backyard and a boat slip. If you'd like a day on the lake, we offer a pontoon boat for rent with advance coordination ($650 for the first day). Just ask us about additional days.



THE NEIGHBORHOOD

You're in Lake Lure, in the North Carolina mountains, where the lake is the main draw. Chimney Rock State Park is a 6-minute drive, with hiking, waterfalls and panoramic views. The Lake Lure Beach & Marina is also 6 minutes away for seasonal swimming and lake activities. The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge, a scenic garden walkway, is 5 minutes away. Downtown Chimney Rock, with shops and restaurants, is 6 minutes away. For dinner, La Strada serves lakefront Italian and Lured Market & Grill is a casual American option, both about 5 minutes away. Old Rock Café and Riverwatch Grill in Chimney Rock are 6 minutes away. If you want a bigger day trip, the Biltmore Estate is about 45 minutes away.

• Parking: free parking on premises.

• Your access: you have full access to both homes, the dock, the outdoor seating areas and everything listed. The hot tub is for your group's use only.

• Free attraction tickets: stays under 28 nights include complimentary daily attraction tickets through Xplorie.

• Lake levels: Lake Lure is periodically lowered from late November through March for maintenance, so the water and dock may look different in those months.

• Safety: the homes are built right at the water, so please take care on the decks and dock.

• Quiet hours: we kindly ask guests to keep to the quiet hours so everyone can enjoy the lake.

• Who looks after you: we're PMI Blue Ridge, and Corey is just a text away if you need anything at all.

Guests have full access to both homes, the dock, outdoor seating areas, and all listed amenities.



The Neighborhood:

Located in a peaceful cove of Lake Lure, this property offers a quiet waterfront setting while still being just minutes from Chimney Rock and local attractions.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended. Most attractions are within a 5–10 minute drive.
