The room and the grounds were well kept. My issue was what wasn’t included.
1. The hotel does not offer shuttle service to or from the airport. Guests are expected to find their own transportation to the hotel which is 45 min away. Our plane didn’t land until 9 pm so at that time we only had 2 options; cab or Uber. We chose a cab as the Uber had surge pricing. The cost was $150 USD.
2. Upon arrival, we were told that even though we had pre-paid for the room, there is a $53 “resort fee” every day we are there. Since we are there for 8 nights, $424 USD.
3. When we woke up to have breakfast, we found only one restaurant on the property and the menu had limited items and even more limited cocktail options and everything was overpriced. $100 USD.
4. When looking for something to do on the property, we found absolutely nothing except a small pool. The resort does have direct beach access but it is not private and they do not supply their guests with chairs or umbrellas. Do they have them? Of course they do. $100 USD per day until 4 pm.
Bottom line, this hotel has no business calling itself a resort as it has very limited amenities, only one overpriced restaurant and they essentially charge you to use the beach. I have never been more unsatisfied with a hotel in my life. They need to remove “resort” from their name. This is a hotel.
