We really liked this hotel, it was a great location and the staff were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the main guest house with a garden view for 8 nights. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well, could have done with a bit more hanging space in the wardrobe. The breakfast was good but the ‘hot’ food was only ever barely warm, the ladies who worked in the breakfast room were all very pleasant and helpful. My only negative about the hotel was the pools were all very very cold, (we tried all three) swimming and using the pool is important to me and my husband but we found them way too cold. The pool at the guest house is so pretty, like a little oasis and just a little heating it up would make so much difference. That said it is a beautiful hotel and I would highly recommend it if using the pool is not a priority for you but I don’t think I would stay again for that reason.

This place was just delightful! Every detail was beautiful - the common areas, the breakfast area, the pool, the rooms and their tile details. Comfortable beds. Nice walk to the town square. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Nice hotel property but would have preferred the main residence versus guest house situated a short distance away. Room was very clean, pool area was well maintained. Walkable to most everything. Staff was very helpful. Parking could be problematic during peak season. Great breakfast buffet.

The room was very clean, spacious and well equipped. The breakfast buffet was varied and excellent. We didn’t try the pool as it was too cold during our stay ( october). The location is excellent, you can walk to the beaches nearby and to the old city center. Therés also a surprising amount of good restaurants 2-4 minutes walking distance, try the Palacio da China nearby if you want a change from Portuguese cuisine. The Spar supermarket just down the road is fairly large and offers a great selection of wines, cheese and snacks at good prices.

This hotel‘s name says it all. Once we checked in and were able to explore the hotel we were captivated. It really was as beautiful as the pictures. It’s a very small property, but every inch of it seems thoughtfully designed and all details are well maintained. The staff were kind and helpful. The breakfast each morning could not have been higher quality and more diverse. The courtyard you get to enjoy it in was one of those places you usually only see in a magazine, not experience in real life. It’s not a big hotel and it’s not smack in the center of the old town, but it is well situated to both old town as well as the beach. The space in the room was perfect and the beds were comfortable.

We absolutely loved Dom Manuel. We were in a guest suite just 2 minutes from the main hotel and it was wonderful. Terrific space, great amenities and super shower. The pool was cool and refreshing, although we only used the one at our building. The main one was gorgeous, too. And the buffet breakfast was sensational and plentiful with so many fresh choices, hot and cold. Dom Manuel was the best place we stayed in, in our 5 week Spain and Portugal trip. Dom was damn fantastic. Obrigato.

We loved our stay here! The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast selection every morning including dairy free options for me. The pool area was beautiful as well. Just a short walk to beaches in the area and the old town.

Guest house vs hotel

Attention: lorsque vous réservez a cette hôtel et que vous prenez la Guest house, vous devrez sortir de la propriété pour vous rendre à votre building; donc pas de service de boissons ou de nourriture à la chambre ou à la piscine. Par contre, c’est magnifique, mais pas du tout dans le style de l’hotel. Au depart, j’ai été déçue car j’avais choisi cette hôtel pour son ambiance portugaise. Nous étions dans une chambre petite mais bien décorée d’une guesthouse de 6 chambres, donc tranquille avec piscine privée. La propreté de cette hôtel est irréprochable. Le petit déjeuner est excellent; beaucoup de choix vegan. Pas de crêpes ou gaufres mais un excellent choix! Bémol: le stationnement dans la rue qui peut être difficile. La piscine pourrait être chauffée pour en profiter au max. Il y a un réfrigérateur minuscule dans la chambre qui ne fait que tempérer, donc ne pensez pas l’utiliser pour refroidir. Vous pourrez vous rendre à pieds dans la vieille ville de Lagos.
