Staff were terrific. Very helpful, knowledgeable and seemed truly interested in your stay. The room was large, lots of space to lay out items, bed was large and very comfortable. The balcony was great looking at the harbour and sunsets. The bathroom was well layout everything you needed and a nice rainfall shower. I didn’t eat breakfast at the hotel.

I couldn’t make my mind up where to stay in Labuan Bajo, in the end I chose Meruorah due to its close proximity to town, I was so glad I did. The hotel was amazing, the pictures on Expedia didn’t do it justice. The rooms were large and modern with all the amenities you need. Breakfast was served on the six floor with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating overlooking the harbour. There was so much choice of food with cooking stations and cold food available. The hotel was within easy walking distance to the harbour although all tours offered pick up from the hotel. The only downside I found was the road noise and from the masjid just down the road, the hotel obviously realised this and left earplugs in the room, if I stay there again I would definitely pay the extra for a sea view room so as to be away from this noise. I would highly recommend staying here.

Booked the Seaview and was able to get one of the rooms farthest from the mosque so it was quite faint. However, with the seaview, you will bear the little skiffs that go out fishing and they are loooud! Not unbearable but be aware. That said, the hotel room, amenities and everything around the area is quite lovely. Walkable and the port for all the boat excursions is just a 3min walk away.

VERY noisy

The rooms at Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo are visually very nice, and the hotel even offers a complimentary 15-minute foot massage, which was a thoughtful touch. However, several issues made my stay disappointing. The “signature rooms” are located directly by a mosque, meaning you’ll be woken up around 4:30 a.m. daily. When I requested a quieter room, the manager, Ivan, accused me of being anti-Muslim—an appalling and unprofessional response. Expecting guests to pay more for a basic quiet room is unacceptable, and management needs serious training. Noise is an issue beyond the mosque: even the waterfront rooms are loud due to boat traffic. At the pool, there are only about 10 lounge chairs, so they’re gone quickly—leaving no chance to relax comfortably, even if you don’t mind sitting in the sun (with no shade provided). Breakfast is also handled poorly—you’re expected to book it at check-in without seeing it, or the price increases significantly, which feels very off-putting. Spa services were available, but massages were noticeably more expensive than at comparable hotels. Finally, the service throughout was subpar—slow, inattentive, and not at the standard expected for a property in this price range. Overall, while the property itself looks attractive, the lack of professionalism, poor handling of guest concerns, constant noise, and weak service overshadow the positives.

The hotel is very clean and beautiful view of the harbor. It’s convenient walk to restaurants and shopping just next to it. I feel safe walking around the town. The staff are excellent people and very helpful.
