Beautiful home. A lot of space. We loved the private pool and hot tub. Place can accommodate large groups. It was far enough outside of town for privacy and yet close enough (30 minutes) to activities in La Fortuna. We were blessed with beautiful weather and enjoyed the outstanding views of the volcano. We enjoyed the fully equipped kitchen and appreciated the washer and dryer convenience. The house was very clean, the host was very responsive and helpful with suggestions about the area. We felt safe. The house looks just as beautiful in person as it does in the photos.

The Daughter of the Moon’s had EVERYTHING! We loved our stay and enjoyed all of the amazing amenities it offered (the massage chair was the cherry on top!). It was private, clean, and well stocked. Janeth was so attentive and made us feel right at home. The location was also so close to all of our La Fortuna excursions - we cannot recommend this VRBO enough!

What an amazing time at Hija De La Luna!!! We stayed 3 nights and 4 days and from the beginning the host Janeth had a warm welcome by showing us around the beautiful house and having some snacks for our stay. The house had plenty of space and beds for us 7 ladies and would accommodate 5 more if needed. The house had everything from kitchenware to toiletries for your stay there. The view from the back of the house is breathtaking! The different type of birds that you see every morning is a bird watcher’s dream.I am super happy I chose to stay here for my birthday celebration every moment was well worth it!! Thank you Carolina with all the suggestions from eating to transportation you gave us.

Fantastic and would love to stay again,- Pool and hot tub area was spectacular. - The bedroom with multiples beds is bigger and better than the pictures show. They really should update that room picture online. It has two full beds on one wall , a pull out sofa on a wall, a Murphy bed on another wall and then two huge bunk beds with stairs that connect them. Twins on top and with queens on bottom. It has Massive ceiling and nice full bathroom.- master has huge sitting area with cool massage chair and large closet - 4 full bathrooms in total- washer and dryer work great- several bug zappers to plug in- multiple dining areas outside and inside- views to die for - fans to use in living room- air units in the bedrooms work well and electric drop down shades - offer affordable in home massage services- food delivery service was easy with what’s app. We used Victoriano’s for breakfast and a dinner one night.Cons: - No dishwasher, which was a little surprising to me given the house is worth a million plus. - bedroom #2 doesn’t have a ton of storage space, but not really a problem - the glass is single pane and it doesn’t have central air so it gets super hot in the day from the sun. They really need drop down shades in the living room to help with that. An air unit in living room would be huge.Overall, probably one of the nicest properties in the whole area and definitely the most beautiful. Would stay there again anytime.

We had an amazing stay at this Vrbo and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The views were absolutely stunning and something we looked forward to enjoying every day. The home was spotless, well maintained, and thoughtfully set up with everything we needed. It truly felt like a home away from home—comfortable, welcoming, and relaxing from the moment we arrived. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, cozy place with incredible views. It was also easy and safe to get to town. Usually only taking 8-10 minutes which we were able to use Uber or taxis for.

The property was as described, a lovely and well-appointed home in a beautiful hilltop location. The reflection pool with a sweeping view of the Arenal Volcano was a favorite, as was an evening dinner in the separate dining area. You will not be disappointed staying here!

We got robbed. Though this location was beautiful and the house great for our family our perfect vacation turned into a nightmare when the locked property was broken into while we slept. Fortunately, the robbers did not hurt our four children, however, they stole all of our day bags that were in the kitchen/living room which had clothing, credit cards, medicine, money, and electronics in them. Though we filed a police report listing all of the items stolen the owner only sent us 800, far from what was lost. We thought our stay would be comped for not supplying safe and secure lodging with proper security, but that wasn't even on the table. Rather than compensate us, the owners said that we were negligent, though the house was completely locked when we went to bed and the next morning the owners and police even saw where the seam from the glass on the sliding doors was broken apart. We are extremely disappointed with how this traumatic experience was handled. We loved Costa Rica but this memory and experience will always come to mind when we think of our time in this beautiful country.

Amazing rental home on top of a hill

This house was perfect for our family. The location outside of La Fortuna on top of a hill with amazing views couldn’t have been better. The wall of opening glass was perfect for an indoor outdoor feel. Excellent pool and hot tub for relaxing.

Truly Exceptional Stay – Even Better Than the Photos!

Our stay at Daughter of the Moon Villa was absolutely unforgettable. The property was exactly as described, actually, it exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful setting, the attention to detail, and the incredible views in every direction.The hammock on the covered deck quickly became our favorite hangout spot, perfect for reading, relaxing, or just soaking in the surroundings. The pool was a dream, clean, refreshing, and complete with breathtaking views of the volcano and valley. Every room felt thoughtfully designed and well-appointed, and the whole home had a calm, welcoming energy.We also loved the quiet location, it felt like a private retreat, yet it was still a quick drive into La Fortuna for restaurants, tours, and hot springs. If you're looking for a truly special place to stay in the area, this is it. We can’t recommend it highly enough and are already dreaming about coming back.

Christmas in La Fortuna

Our family spent Christmas in La Fortuna at this beautiful house. There was plenty of room for seven adults to relax and enjoy spending time together. The property is not in the town which made for a serene visit. Driving to town was a quick 20 minute drive to most attractions. We really enjoyed the pool, the views and seasonable weather. I highly recommend Daughter of the Moon for those looking to visit the La Fortuna area. It was spectacular!

Best property I’ve been to!

Rented out this property for my sisters bachelorette party and I’m so happy I did! The house was absolutely beautiful! It’s perfect for large groups, it’s also in a great location. We were able to go to so many places in La Fortuna with a short drive. The host answers quickly which is always nice. The backyard is stunning. They have a hot tube, a pool looking over the beautiful landscape with the volcano is the back! They have a section you can sit down and barbecue. We absolutely fell in love with this house! Highly recommend!

A Peaceful Oasis

My sister I brought our spouses and 5 kids (aged 11-19) for 5 nights. We explored Fortuna and participated in many wonderful excursions the area has to offer. This house is amazing and just 10 minutes by car into the city. Before our arrival I had texted with the owner and his wife. They were lovely and helpful people. Upon check in we were met by Janeth. Though she doesn’t speak English she communicated everything about the home very proficiently. She just lives down the hill and immediately responded to our messages when we had questions or needed help. The description of the house on VRBO was 100% accurate. It is a gorgeous home in the countryside. We all loved the lush vegetation as well as the peace and quiet. We saw many birds and even had a toucan visiting each day. The pool was lovely and overlooks a beautiful valley with grazing cow. The home is well equipped with everything you might need. The beds were comfortable with nice linens. We especially enjoyed the large outdoor pavilion with a grill. There is no doubt that I would rent this house again the next time I visit Fortuna. Other nice touches included wine at check in, bathrobes and slippers. I give this property 19/19 stars!

The best view

After spending five nights at a beach resort my family and I came to this location for a change of scenery and to experience more of what Costa Rica had to offer. The kids absolutely loved the pool and watching the birds. There were two toucans in the tree when we arrived! The housekeeper was very friendly and responsive. I could never get tired of that view! We had everything that we needed and would definitely stay here again.

This property was everyone's favorite from the amazing views of the area including the volcano, the inside/outside living and the bonus entertainment area with an amazing lookout. We were greeted by an iguana by the pool and everyone fell in love with the views.

Priceless view

This villa outside of Fortuna has a stunning view, well equipped bathrooms and kitchen, and all the bonuses you could dream of. We stayed here with two families of 6, twelve of us total. Kids ranged from 9-21. Teens loved the size of the pool and the hot tub. We spent three days here while we visited Fortuna Waterfall, zip lining, hanging bridges, etc. This came after our 5 night stay in Coco Beach. Only negative we had was the constant gnats that somehow found their way into the house. The common rooms had bug zappers but we needed to sweep up the dead gnats twice a day. We also had a small snake crawl under front door and a tree frog also near front door. We had no problem putting those back outside. But be aware these types of critters can be inside. It was rainey season, so maybe these are only a problem then. No mosquitoes, which was amazing after being bitten so many times at the beach.

Great Weekend

The property is great and just a few miles from town. The pool and jacuzzi along with the view make this place worth visiting. Janeth, the property host was available and assisted us with a smile and friendly advice. Definitely rent a car so u can travel to the tourist spots.

Villa Daughter of the Moon was fabulous

We enjoyed an excellent stay at the house! The view and the surrounding area was absolutely gorgeous! Janeth who takes care of the house was so responsive and kind. We would definitely stay here again!
