Very welcoming and accommodating with daily travel arrangements. Beautiful home with amazing hot tub pool in the jungle. Meals were amazing. Would highly recommend.
We loved our stay in La Fortuna! The house is beautiful, well cared for, and very close to Arenal national park. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts and attentive service from the staff. Our family would love to stay here again!
This is a great place to stay outside of the craziness of La Fortuna. Breakfast was always a great bonus and the hosts were very accommodating adjusting to our schedule. Nice to have a paved road between Majestic Lodge and La Fortuna. Just down the road from Sky Adventures which has amazing Zipline experience and awesome place to eat at El Patio.
Amazing house for a larger group! We had so much fun staying in this house, a home away from home! Daily breakfasts were delicious and the location was perfect! The views of the volcano were breathtaking. Such a calm, peaceful property.
Majestic Lodge has so many rooms and places to hang out! We had a group of 12 and spread out amongst the rooms. There is a beautiful outdoor space with a ton of chairs and tables where we hung out and ate our meals. Upstairs there is a nice family room where we played games. Great hosts and breakfasts! A quick 5 minute walk brings you to the boat launch with plenty of boats to rent.
Absolutely Gorgeous Mansion With Beautiful Woodwork
Came with All my kids and grandkids. 16 Total. The house was so good to have wonderful bedroom/bath suites for everyone. The house is beautiful and richly appointed to match the Costa Rica rich landscape and character. We used the Large deck continuously with lots of room for our large family playing cards and eating. The highlight was having the swimming pool next to the deck and the kids were so entertained in it. It is a 25+ minute drive to La Fortuna but we would definitely book again.
Our group of 8 friends stayed at the Majestic Lodge for 5 nights and had a truly wonderful experience. The house itself had plenty of space for us to gather on the deck for meals and hanging out without feeling crowded. The breakfasts that were prepared for us each morning were absolutely highlights of the trip, and got each day off to a great start. José was always available via WhatsApp to make sure we had everything we needed, check in on timing for breakfast in the mornings, and to offer input on excursions for us - we truly appreciated him hosting us. The location itself, while a little remote, ended up being a highlight itself - providing privacy and a phenomenal view of the volcano, easy access to the bar next door (Howler’s) that had free pool and great pizza, as well as access to another restaurant close by overlooking the lake (Fusion). I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and self-paced vacation to Costa Rica.
We had a fantastic experience at the Majestic lodge with our group of 21 people. All our expectations we had were met and it was an amazing environment for all ages. Our accommodations were clean and well kept with very comfortable beds, private bathrooms in each bedroom, and a wonderful communal space for our large crew. Leidy & Maria made us feel so welcomed and the meals they prepared were excellent. We purchased the meal package — well worth it!. Betto communicated so well and helped with any small issues when they arose. The views out of the Resort were breathtaking and the patio was such a great spot for a gorgeous breakfast in the morning and a fun card game at night. The children enjoyed the clean pool and hot tub. We couldn’t have asked for more and Maria and Leidy are the sweetest. Thank you so much, we would recommend to anyone:)There was a minor communication delays with Shiloh, the VRBO host, when initially requesting information about the property. In the end, phone calls were a better form of communication and all worked out in the end!
When I booked the “Majestic Lodge”, the photo on the VRBO site and the home description/overview had no information about (1) a 20 foot by 40 foot pile of accumulated garbage over 10 feet tall being right next to the home and in front of the small home where the cook for the property lived, (2) no hot water being available in the home for all showers, (3) the inside floors being so dirty they must have not been cleaned for weeks, and (4) the bathroom fixtures like shower handles falling off the wall. The photos on the VRBO site show an immaculate lodge in a forest area and they are highly misleading based on our experience at the lodge. We did not take photos of these conditions while we were there (how do we take a photo of no hot water?), but we have 21 people who stayed there who can give you confirmation of these conditions.
There were 13 people on this wonderful trip. Our ages ranged in 20’s50’s70”s. Family and very close friends. Majestic Lodge was the perfect place for all of us to be. The house itself is great, with a room for each and everyone of us. The rental price of Majestic includes breakfast, and we were not disappointed. Not an easy feat for 13 people. Maria fixed a wonderful breakfast for us each morning to start the day. Our property managers were Betto and his wife Leidy. They live on site and were there to help us out with anything we needed. Communication with Betto was great. There is a Pool and a Hot Tub, as well as a spacious outside sitting area that we utilized for meals, games, and just to gather with a perfect view of the volcano. We highly recommend “Majestic Lodge” to anyone looking for a great place to stay. Thank you Betto, Leidy, and Marie for making our stay a very memorable one. This was a trip of a lifetime. Thank You.Cathy, John, and Family

Decent Stay
The property manager (Betto) was extremely friendly and helpful, especially in giving advice on and booking excursions. The fresh breakfasts were excellent and the best part. The property itself is not in a great location (about 20 minutes from La Fortuna) and there are some rough, rundown properties just a stone throw away. The physical property itself is a far cry from the four and five star hotel type properties that most Americans are used to, but it served its purpose and we had an enjoyable stay. The property is showing its age and there are many maintenance items (kitchen, pool, etc.) that need to be attended to if this property wants to market itself as a nicer place. There were also lots of construction materials that were an eyesore in the driveway. The hot tub was not working properly and only lukewarm and needs to be repaired for future guests. We enjoyed our time. but this property was not at the level of what we were expecting based on the pictures and ratings.

Potential but disappointing
We had a wonderful vacation but it required quite a bit of an adjustment to our expectations. Upon arrival the pool and jacuzzi were not operational and were not fixed for the entire stay. Most of the bedrooms were damp and smelled awful. Only 2 guests could shower at a time because of water pressure and hot water limitations. The provided van was an older model and rather beat up and left us stranded on one of the excursions we planned. We were able to have the farm/business take us into town where we rented two cars for the remainder of our stay. The ‘presidential/consierge service’ was minimal and overpriced, we scheduled most(50%) of our tours and events ourselves. The cook was lovely but no housekeeping other than us taking our towels to the laundry room and requesting washing was done. No sheets were cleaned/changed, no rooms or areas were cleaned during our stay, no trash emptied. This could have been a magical vacation with the slightest of attention to detail by the owner or upkeep.(oven broken and 2/5 burners not working, dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen and not secured(open door and it tilted over dumping the shelves, ice maker broken). The jacuzzi and pool not operational was inexcusable- a major selling point that from the appearance had not been maintained or worked in a very long time.Renter beware. Lovely home with lots of potential and beautiful and remote location but NOT as advertised.Needs major maintenance and upkeep for the price and promise.
