I wish we could have stayed at this inn for a longer period of time, but there was unfortunately only one day where it wasn’t booked. I hope to stay here again for a few more days. We loved kyoto!

Very professional staff very relaxing environment and clean
Great and friendly staff. We asked for a birthday sign upon arrival and they confirmed they would have it but didn’t receive it. The breakfast could have been better with an explanation presentation
Our stay was a beautiful experience comprising a great welcoming ( especially with Holly ), excellent service, great room with plenty of amenities and last but not least delicious food.
Excellent traditional Ryokan experience. The staff was excellent and the food service was incredible. This was a special and memorable experience for our family in Kyoto.
We spent two nights at the Izuyasu and greatly enjoyed our stay. This is a traditional inn, which has been owned by the same family for seven generations. They were extremely hospitable and have a combination of family and English-speaking staff running the inn. The owner took the time to share with us the history of the inn and the significance of some of the decorations, which we very much appreciated.
We had a Kaiseki dinner at the inn one evening and it was an absolute treat, with a menu that changes every two weeks according to the 24 Japanese seasons. Highly recommend this and it needs to be booked in advance.
Holly and Enrique provided us with terrific suggestions on things to do in the area and restaurants. The inn is well located with easy access to sights, parks and transport. We took trains and buses everywhere.
Beautiful Ryokan located near Kyoto station with almost 200 years of history. Breakfast and dinner options were superb. Staff was super friendly and attentive. It was also really nice meeting the Chef and Owner. Will definitely stay back here again on my next visit to Kyoto.
The staff was beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast each morning was so enjoyable and the staff catered to all of our needs. I would highly recommend this ryokan to any traveler visiting the Kyoto area!
Our stay was beautiful and a fantastic experience as a family to get a small taste of traditional Japanese culture. Everything from sleeping on futons to sitting on tatami mats to our own private onsen made for a memorable stay . Thank you so much for having us and I will be highly recommending this accommodation to family and friends .
Staying here, and opting for the absolutely amazing dinner, was the highlight of our first time trip to Japan! If you want to experience the traditional Japanese lifestyle, this is the place to stay. The room, the private bath, the traditional clothing provided, and the breakfast and dinner meals were all top quality.
This by far was my favorite experience in Japan, I wish I had stayed more than one night. The private onsen was amazing, and the room was big and cozy. The staff was also so great and very kind and helpful! I highly highly recommend staying at this ryokan!
This beautiful inn exceeded our expectations. Morning breakfast service was wonderful and common areas like baths and living room area were well designed and cozy. Beautiful spirit of omotenashi here!
Amazing ryokan. It was mind blowing to be served a 7 course meal by the seventh generation owner/chef. The dinner was amazing. The property is beautifully decorated. Everything is centered around the guests’ comfort.
