Had the most wonderful experience, the hotel was lovely and the staff were so kind and thoughtful and professional. We stayed in the room with the half open air bath and it was so relaxing. We booked a private onsen bath and the waters were very soothing. The room itself was beautiful, and very comfortable to sleep in. The banquet breakfast was delicious and so lovingly prepare prepared. But most importantly, the staff were so courteous at every moment and did everything they could to make our stay a great experience. We strongly recommend Togetsutei and look forward to returning one day!

The staff was so wonderful and everything was absolutely beautiful. It was like stepping back in time and the way it was decorated and the experience herereally was a highlight in our trip. What a great ryokan! Excellent service, luxury traditional experience with unique matcha tea ceremony each day. All of the staff so friendly and really made the birthday holiday extra special. Evening meals and breakfasts were so big and luxurious with lots of courses in the traditional kaiseki form. They were very tasty and even accommodated my vegetarian request. They provided traditional outfits to wear too. Highly recommended all round, hope to be back again soon.

Very friendly team! Everyone remembered us and provided a very warm experience for our honeymoon. We opted for the dinner kaiseki which had so many courses full of seasonal freshness, textures, and tastes. The onsen was a very relaxing experience as well. It was a very nice location to stay at while exploring Kyoto. We appreciated the relaxing atmosphere of the countryside. There is also a small town area near the ryokan which provided a few dining and shipping options. Multiple train stations are also nearby.

Nice convenient onsen hotel

Very nice authentic onsen hotel, conveniently located just next to the Togetsu-kyo bridge. Private bath in room is also nice and clean, food is good up to general onsen hotel standard, you can see food has been prepared with lots of thought.

Togetsutei is wonderful in every way! During our stay the staff was exceptional, the room was large and comfortable, and the onsen with view was superb. We needed assistance finding a dinner location and the staff made wonderful recommendations and even provided help navigating there. I hope to visit again

Perfect Ryokan experience

Amazing ryokan. Perfectly located and the rooms with Japanese bath overlooking the bridge are incredible. Dinner and breakfast are well worth including for a true Kyoto Ryokan experience.
