Magasinn is a combination of a small design store and lodging space, offering guests time to experience carefully selected products, books, and artwork overnight.

We changes its content regularly, providing guests with new ideas and new topics, just like an actual magazine.

The building is a renovated two-story wooden machiya, a symbol of Kyoto. It is reserved exclusively for one group per day.

We look forward to meeting new ideas from all over the world.

Business hours for non-overnight visitors are Friday through Sunday and on holidays. Between 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, staff may be on site setting up for exhibitions or rearranging the interior layout. They will not enter locked guest rooms. (Please note that activities may vary by season; if you have any questions, please contact us.)

If you arrive by 7:00 PM, you will be checked in by a staff member in person. After 7:00 PM and on non-business days, we may ask you to use our self-check-in service, as staff will not be on site. We appreciate your understanding. To store your luggage, please contact us by the day before your arrival. We can store your luggage from 12:00 PM on the day of check-in until 3:00 PM on the day of check-in.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy

The host was extremely accommodating and responsive. He helped with every request I had and offered a discount on store goods. The shop and gallery atmosphere added a fun, eclectic vibe to our stay. We stayed in the winter and found that the temperature control in the inn was excellent. Don't overlook that, as good heat regulation is rare for older, traditional homes.
