We loved it here so much. The location was amazing, we felt safe (all of Japan really) the room was clean and comfortable, WiFi was reliable, the breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the hotel gave out amenities like hand warmers that kept us warm and toasty for our hours of sightseeing

Good location and the room is clean and not too small. The only challenge I had was Expedia allowed booking for 2 adults and one 15-year old child in a superior twin room when I booked. Fortunately I read the fine prints a week before arrival. However ended up added a single room at similar cost of the double. The process was a bit painful as not many English speaking staffs and they requested emailing instead. So took about 3-4 days to confirm.

Enjoyed our stay, very close to all the shopping areas with very good food options near by. The stay was comfortable. At night if you have the windows open, you’ll hear loud noises because the bars and clubs are nearby. Would stay here again.

Enjoyed our stay here. Staff friendly and spoke enough English for us to get by. Room on the smaller side and a bit dated but very clean. Nice bathroom with tub and shower. Convenient location to restaurants, shopping and transportation. Breakfast options not large and didn’t change up day to day.

Great customer service! We arrived earlier around 1ish and checked our luggage’s in first. When we came back, room cards are all ready and luggages were carried in our room in advance. The premium coffee machine produced the best tasty coffee of all hotels I tried so far. The cafeteria was lovely. Too pity haven’t got chance to try their beer (didn’t see we had a beer coupon until after 10pm). The bed was hugely wide, and probably the most spacious bathroom in Japan. Great location! The hotel is located in a quiet alley just 2-3 minutes away from the busy shopping street. Will definitely come back again for ARU and stay longer next time!

The room was spacious and comfortable, with nice amenities and a large bed. The shower room was also large and comfortable. The location was very near Pontocho alley and walking distance to lots of shopping, while the hotel and room were peaceful and quiet. We were actually shocked at how quiet the room was even on a lively night outside. Close to a train station to, 10/10 stay would definitely recommend.

What a wonderful stay. We had 3 nights in this well located and well maintained hotel. Room was spacious with a pretty view of central Kyoto. Close to main attractions with plenty of transport options and restaurants (including a short walk from the famed Nishiki Markets). Given this proximity some outside noise could be heard in the small hours, but no huge issue. Hotel Aru is also accessible with elevators to all floors. Breakfast was fantastic. Excellent bath. Will be staying again.
