We LOVED our stay at Imbali Safari Lodge! We stayed three nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The food was incredible, the entire staff wonderful- shout out to Winston! Our lodge was lovely; private and so very comfortable. The 2 included safari drives a day were exciting and informative, thanks to our exceptional guide, Morne. I would recommend Imbali for a couple looking for value with romantic, traditional decor and warm and friendly staff to take care for you on your Kruger Park visit.

Amazing and authentic safari experience

Our stay at Imbali was amazing. The staff were all very friendly and always there to help The room was awesome, overlooking the river, with the occasional animal coming past! The plunge pool was welcome after a hot game drive too!!! Talking of game drives, big shout out to our guide Marc who was excellent, very knowledgeable and very friendly. Staying at the Imbali Lodge in Kruger was a genuinely amazing and authentic safari experience.

Short safari trip

Picked imbali as a good place for a short 3 day safari. Food portions were large and of good quality . There are some areas where the wood at the lodge and around the property need some replacement but overall didn’t detract from a lovely setting . Watering hole for elephants is directly opposite the restaurant area so good for breakfast and lunch . Safari drives were good and Jayden did a great job for us . Would have been nice to have a transfer from local airport Skukuza included in the cost of the room. Private hire was around £135 each way.

The Imbali Safari Lodge is a fantastic Kruger destination. The staff is super friendly and service is excellent. The tiki hut style rooms are very comfortable and include a nice 4 piece bathroom, privacy screened deck with plunge pool, lounge chairs, mosquito netted king bed, coffee and a fully stocked fridge. Food is excellent with buffet style breakfast and lunch. Dinner selections are served in courses and have been delicious. Game viewing from the main deck has been great as well. I have attached just a few game pics. Wonderful to enjoy a beverage while witnessing nature's wonders. The game drives are also a great experience. Victor, our driver always greets with a friendly smile and shares a wealth of knowledge. Couldn't hope for better!

Séjour inoubliable.

Superbe lodge intimiste (peu de chambres) situé dans les profondeurs du parc Kruger. Aucun dérangement des autres hôtes ce qui permet d’être au cœur de la nature. Belle suite avec terrasse privative nous permettant d’observer les nombreux animaux (éléphants, girafes …) Personnels très attentionnés. L’ensemble des repas (formule all inclusive) était d’une grande qualité (très bon cuisinier) Les deux safaris par jours sont magiques.

Where to start? The game drives were outstanding as was the food. Our guide/tracker was very knowledgable and did an effort to find as much wildlife as he could. But at the same time, he ensured that we were all ok and loved to crack a joke every now and then. It made our game drives very special. The rooms were large with a view over the river. All of them had a private plunge pool and a private deck. During the drives, the rooms were made up very nicely which made us feel at home. And then there is the staff… all of them were genuinely friendly, caring and helpful. It was very nice to have a chat with them about the wildlife, nature but also everyday life. Staff of an accommodation can make or break your stay, Imbali’s superb staff made ours very special. A big thank you for your wonderful service which made our safari a truly wonderful experience! We miss you guys already!

Das Essen und die angebotenen Safari-Touren waren toll. Beim Essen konnte man am gegenüberliegenden Wasserloch Tiere beobachten. Die Unterkunft selbst ist in die Jahre gekommen. Im Detail war vieles sehr abgenutzt oder gar kaputt (z.B. Tür zur Terrasse, Moskitonetz war löchrig). Schade für den Preis.

I can't say enough about this beautiful place and the beautiful people who work here! I don't normally stay at such nice places so my cousin and I enjoyed every minute - from eating lunch with an elephant herd and going on game drive with Julie to find wild dogs! Nossa melhor escolha no Kruger, hotel incrível!

Experiência incrível, tudo foi muito bom! Passamos uma única noite no hotel (infelizmente), mas fomos super bem recebidos e bem cuidados. Nosso quarto era grande, bonito e confortável, as áreas comuns são lindas e bem cuidadas, com uma vista privilegiada - almoçamos olhando pra elefantes e zebras. Os safáris foram incríveis, vimos muitos animais e recebemos várias informações legais do guia. As refeições são ótimas, comida deliciosa e bem elaborado, com muito capricho e presteza de todos. Só temos elogios para o hotel, tudo pensado pra que sua experiência seja a melhor em todos os aspectos. A nossa foi assim! Voltaremos sem dúvidas numa próxima viagem ao Kruger e recomendamos a todos.

Quase perfeito! Ficaria mais!

Hotel com boa relação custo benefício dentro do parque. Quarto maravilhoso (quarto n•5) com vista para os animais e um deck com piscina (que estava suja pois era inverno). Alguns veadinhos vieram beber água na piscina e babuínos passaram pelo telhado e deck bem a nossa frente! Incrível de lindo! Peça o quarto 4 ou 5 que tem a mesma vista do restaurante! Do restaurante pode-se saborear a refeição assistindo a animais q se revezam na frente do hotel. Isso é ponto alto deste hotel! O jantar oferecido no esquema menu é muito bom. Já o almoço é buffet e deixa a desejar pela categoria do hotel, daria 4 estrelas para a comida. Várias bebidas alcoólicas e não alcoólicas incluídas. Quanto a localização, fica distante do aeroporto cerca de 2 h, por isso é importante que o voo chegue cedo para não correr o risco de não chegar a tempo do Safari das 15:30 ou mesmo do fechamento do parque. O Transfer oferecido pelo hotel é caro, recomendo alugar um carro. Nos game drives havia apenas 1 guia, e não 2 (motorista + ranger). Mas não houve qualquer situação de risco, embora seja uma falha grave de segurança. Todo staff do hotel é muito solicito e educado. O único ponto que nos incomodou bastante foi a insistência por gorjetas de um dos rapazes. Tudo que fazia já estendia a mão para tocar esperando por gorjetas. Chato e deselegante. Estamos em um hotel all inclusive em que o hóspede quer se desligar de obrigações. No hotel há a caixa para gorjetas, do staff e dos guias que serve para isso!

I had booked Imbali Safari Lodge for two nights and they overbooked the lodge the first night and made us go to the much smaller and less nice Hoyo Hoyo resort for one night and then TRANSFER back to Imbali Safari Lodge. No email or prior communication was given to me regarding this exchange. The lady Bunny was not at all helpful and rude. She told us to chase after a car heading to Hoyo Hoyo to find the place which was nowhere to be found. Finally, a nicer lady at the hotel got one of the staff to show us the way. This was totally inacceptable as I had booked specifically Imbali Safari Lodge which was MUCH nicer with a larger room/bathroom and outdoor terrace and mini pool. Aside from this incident, overall service was great, the food was good, the game rides were awesome and once we shifted to Imbali Safari Lodge, we enjoyed our (albeit now shortened) stay. I blame the Head Office for this last minute change without any communication mostly. I would have expected early communication and some sort of compensation for moving us to a crappier room/lodge when we paid for the larger/nicer one.

Wunderschöne Lodge mitten im Nationalpark.Das Personal ist super nett. Das Essen super. Durch die Wasserstelle direkt vor der Lodge kann man quasi den gesamten Tag von der Terrasse Tiere beobachten. Die Lodges sind super schön eingerichtet und alle mit eigenem Pool. Auch die Game Drives sind absolut super. Ich kann die Lodge nur weiterempfehlen.

Super bel endroit. Très propre. La fontaine d’eau installée en face fait en sorte qu’on voit beaucoup d’animaux venir s’abreuver et se rafraichir. C’est très intéressant. Les tours sont très bien, directement dans la savane et nous furent chanceux de tomber sur une meute de chiens sauvages en chasse. Lors de notre séjour on voyait moins d’animaux que dans la partie sud du parc. La nourriture est excellente et copieuse. Le BBQ est super car cela permet d’essayer des mets sud-africains. Le wifi est fonctionnel à la réception (pas dans les chambres). Le service est très bien.

Fiz minha reserva no hotel e paguei antecipadamente. Meu voo da cidade original foi cancelado, logo perdi todas as outras conexões. Com 5 dias de antecedência entrei em contato com os hoteis para remarcação da estadia. O Imbali foi o único que de maneira irredutível fez a cobrança integral dos 2500 dolares por 2 noites e sequer cogitou remarcar no periodo habil para nova viagem. Fiquei extremamente decepcionada pela maneira com que tratam os clientes.

The Perfect stay

Everything about this lodge was perfect, From the safaris, the guides, the super friendly staff, high quality food, atmosphere and facilities, we had a view of the elephants, buffalo and impala everyday whilst having lunch. Highly recommend staying here and would definitely come back again. Saw the big 5 in the space of 4 game drives, lots of up close encounters, what a trip!

Schöne Safari Lodge mit Abstrichen

Schöne Lodge, komfortable Zimmer mit kleinen Mängeln (leider nur eine schlecht zugängliche Steckdose, diverse Löcher im Moskitonetz, der Mini Whirlpool aufgrund vieler Blätter und Insekten nicht einladend). In der Anlage führt ein Holzübergang zu den Bungalows. Hier hat eine Affenhorde ihr Heim und WC, was man spätestens an deren sehr unangenehm riechenden Hinterlassenschaften bemerkt. Die Qualität der Küche war sehr schwankend, teils sehr lecker, leider einmal verdorbener Käse dabei und ein Lammcarre das nur aus Fett bestand. Bei voller Belegung sind die Sitzplätze auf der Terrasse zu knapp. Auf 50% unserer Game Drives haben wir nicht mehr gesehen, als beim Selfdrive im eigenen Auto - Die Big Five haben wir hier nicht komplett gesehen. Natürlich ist das auch Glückssache, aber hier schien uns die Tier Population weniger dicht, als zB in Sabi Sands. Der geführte Bushwalk war sehr interessant, vielen Dank an die versierten Ranger !
