We stayed here for a few nights as our base to explore phi phi island and hong island etc. Our room was very clean as was the entire property which is super beautiful. Food was average at best. The breakfast was a 2/5 and did not meet standards compared to every other 5 star resort we’ve stayed at in Thailand. Service was slow. A few things to make note of. It bothered us when we requested an extra couple pods for the coffee machine and we were told we would get charged 80 baht for them even though the pods were free. We stayed in the premium ocean view rooms and I would advise against unless you are Muslim. The call to prayer which we had no idea about woke us up at 5 o’clock in the morning every morning. It was so loud that we thought the speakers were on the property below our balcony. Definitely bring earplugs if you are staying in building seven. This happens multiple times a day, but being woken up abruptly at five in the morning was not pleasant. Ear plugs should be provided. We understand this is their religion and have zero issues with this but an FYI would be nice. Don’t splurge on the nicer view rooms if this bothers you. The beach club across the street had a fun vibe. We enjoyed dinner there and it was great !

Great hotel, everything was high quality and the staff is very attentive. Would love to come back. The only thing I would change is the noisy paddle-session that lasts 1-1,5 hours with loud party music between 11am and 12 which is annoying to all others trying to have a chill morning by the pool.

We loved our room and the view it had. Their bathrooms are the kind you wish you have in your dream home! Their staff is extremely friendly and kind. The Olympic pool was fantastic, although we didn’t spent as much time there since we were exploring the famous beaches in the area. The highlight from the breakfast is the fruit selection and that they make eggs to order in any style of your choosing. It’s a car ride to Ao Nang and there aren’t many things to do around the hotel. Note that hotel gives you beach access through a beach club across the street. They only provide bean bags and there are better beaches in the area but this beach was still good for a walk. Overall we loved Varana and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. It was a great find and a highlight of our trip.

A strong smoke-like odour consistent with cigarette smoke entered our room on multiple evenings and mornings. The issue was reported, but we were advised the hotel was at full occupancy, so moving rooms was not possible, and the problem continued. Disappointing for a non-smoking property. Management needs to ensure odours from any source do not impact guest rooms.

We had the most amazing stay at the hotel. Our first Christmas away and it sure won’t be the last. The hotel had it all, a great variety of activities and facilities to use - great gym, pools and beach club. The staff were great and so friendly, especially Alex who made us feel very welcomed!

The staff was absolutely incredible and the resort itself was amazing. The breakfast was top notch and the free activities are all worth trying. Don’t hesitate booking this place.

Rooms were spacious, bathrooms were beautiful! So many beautiful pools to swim in and the included breakfast was great. Had all the expected options and we loved the sourdough bread (baked in house). There were a few random fees but none that applied to us! Would have given 5 stars but the only issue was my husband got food poisoning from the room service. Not a great look for a 5 star hotel. They wouldn’t refund us the food and said “if we get other reports of food poisoning then we can refund you” but we had to check out that day. We only ate at the hotel that day so it was clear it was from the hotel.

Excellent hotel right across the street from the beach. The hotel grounds are perfect. This resort has everything you need to make your stay peaceful, romanitc and recharging. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous to your every question and request. I really would highly recommned this resort as a perfect getaway in the Krabi area. I read other reviews from people complaining this hotel is not Right on the beach..... well it is literally across the street to an amazing beach club that your have access to when staying here. It's not an inconvenience at all and the beach here is perfectly peaceful and relaxing. A great vibe from the beach club makes your afternoon just float away. Enjoy Varana and everything they have to offer.

The rooms were nice but we had issues consistently throughout our stay. Rude servers at the beach club who were extremely disrespectful to my 70 year old mother, added fees for absolutely everything (including 1000 baht to use the beach club pool which is operated by the hotel), and a 3 hour wait for food at dinner due to understaffing. Would never stay here again, please support other local businesses instead for better service and value for your money.
