On the first floor of a charming house, Apartment Smode with Bayview is a contemporary apartment for 5 people. Only 5 minutes by car from the beach and to the heart of Koper, this sunny apartment makes an ideal base for friends or family who want to explore the Slovenian coast.

The apartment is reached via a flight of outdoor stairs. A central hallway is the heart of the apartment with rooms leading off. The light-filled living room includes a sofa and a single bed, as well as a flat-screen TV. A glass door opens onto a private balcony with panoramic views. Guests can enjoy meals al fresco.

Back inside, there is a separate kitchen/diner. The smart fitted kitchen is equipped with a cooker hob, microwave, oven, dishwasher, kettle and fridge/freezer. The dining table can seat 6 people.

Bedroom: The light-filled bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe and a glass door leading out to a balcony.
Extra: The living room contains a single bed, which is separated from the room by a curtain and the sofa converts into a comfortable double bed.

Location
Guests can enjoy exploring the Medieval heart of Koper and Titov trg (Titov Square) with its Venetian-style architecture. Koper was once part of the Venetian Empire and this has left its mark on the town. The narrow streets of the historical centre offer some excellent restaurants and cafés.

There are many wonderful beaches along the coast, including Zusterna Beach (4 minutes by car) and Svetilnik Beach (11 minutes by car). Further along the coast is the charming harbour town of Izola. One of the oldest settlements on the coast it is packed with history and has a lively marina. Visitors can hire kayaks and paddle boards to explore this stunning coastline.

Away from the coast, the area is famous for its rock formations, caves and subterranean rivers. Skocjan Caves (30 minutes) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a spectacular series of caves, stalagmites and stalactites.

For self-catering, Koper’s daily farmers’ market is just 9 minutes away. Here you will find the best, freshest local ingredients. Alternatively, there is a supermarket just 2 minutes from the apartment.

The closest airport is Trieste, Italy, which is a 50-minute drive. Alternatively, Ljubljana Airport is 1 hour and 20 minutes.
