Shala Wellness Retreat (recently constructed) is nested at Lake Kaniere Scenic Reserve, surrounded by native subtropical rain forest, mountains and lake views. The combination of native bush, mountain and lake views; natural building materials (Pole houses, wood and stone), wellness practices and sport activities offered; make this property unique.

Water Unit is a self-contained wellness accommodation with Infrared Sauna, outside bath and shower, own toilet, outside kitchen (to enjoy cooking while listening to the birds) and a beautiful deck overlooking the forest.

Alex the owner lives in the property at Earth Studio and is a qualified 500 YTT from Rishikesh India and offers private yoga classes. If you prefer a sport-based activity, cycling the Wilderness Trial, hiking Mt Tahua or Mt Brown (360 degrees views to see Tasman Sea, Lakes, Rivers, rain forest and Mt Cook are available), kayaking or boating at the Lake, are all open possibilities at the foot of Shala, “Your Home of Wellness”.
