Okay

The room was nice and clean with a modern feel. The bed was two dingles pushed together and the bottom sheet did not fit. This was annoying as we were staying for two nights. The bathroom was small and the door automatically shoot at rapid speed which always hit you as you entered the bathroom, this was very uncomfortable especially at night.

We arrived at the Hoban Hotel in Kilkenny on 9/6/2025 and found a real mess. For starters, the Hoban exteriors looked very run down and old. Like a fallout zone on the side of a busy highway. We examined the room and found old and dated furnishings and few of these. The box frame for the bed had smeared with something brown and gross and the room had a rank odor that drove the Mrs. Out into the hall. Upon further, examination, we realized there was no AC and the windows were cracked open for ventilation. So now I had a stinky, gross, unsafe road noise filled room! Went to front desk. The initial response from the hotel desk clerk was no refund due to it being less than 48 hrs before deadline. They offered us another ground floor room. Mostly same condtions. Finally got them to refund the price minus a fee and told us that we had to get the money back from Expedia because we paid Expedia.

We arrived to Kilkenny for a wedding on Thursday. We chose this location because it was slightly outside of the town center, had its own parking and was relatively close to all of our needed amenities. The staff were lovely and while the food wasn’t for my pallet, the rest of my family enjoyed it. We’d do it again!!
