Your Kilgore getaway awaits at this fabulous 1-bedroom guest house, which is separate from the main house on 8.3 acres of country landscape. The cozy accommodations feature 416 sq ft of living space and include one bedroom with a queen bed.

It includes a fully equipped kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, living and dining space, and a desk for those times when work demands your time. A deck and outdoor gas grill complement the space. With heating, WiFi, and AC, you will feel right at home. The bathroom offers a refreshing shower and a hairdryer for convenience.

Smart TV’s are wall-mounted in both the living area and bedroom. Both are TCL with Android operating systems. Feel free to logon using your own account or watch free Google TV. The living room TV has an HDMI connection from the TV to a wall plate below the TV for easy connection of your game console, DVD player, or other electronic device. You’ll also find several puzzles and games for your entertainment.

Sit on the deck in the evening and watch for deer in the west pasture or along the tree line to the north of the chicken coop. Located in the countryside west of Kilgore city limits, there is little light pollution, so you can sit on the deck at night and stargaze. Watch for passing satellites, meteors, count the stars, or just enjoy the quietness of the night. It is absolutely amazing.

This home is just west of Kilgore and about 3.2 miles south of I-20. It has easy access to Kilgore, Longview, Tyler, and surrounding towns. Feel free to visit the chicken coop and see our feathered friends, and you'll enjoy a few fresh eggs provided by the hens during your stay. You'll find them in the refrigerator upon your arrival. Additional eggs are available for purchase should you want to take some home with you. And if you need a few groceries or other items, a Dollar General Store is nearby, or you can travel into Kilgore to Walmart, Brookshires, or to visit one of many restaurants for dine-in or takeout. While on property, you will enjoy fresh UV-filtered well water.

John was super welcoming and fun! My kiddos got to feed the chickens which they absolutely loved!! They even got to hold some baby chicks! Everything was clean and neat, and the eggs so delicious, I had to buy some to take home with me!! We absolutely loved the Roost! 100% we'd stay there again!!!

The Texas Roost has many home touches, the kitchen is well equipped, and the fresh eggs were a delight. The location is a quiet neighborhood surrounded by woods. The host provided good communication and was very accommodating to our needs. I will stay here again at the next opportunity.

By way of bonfides, my wife and I have stayed at many VRBOs (I quit counting at three dozen) this is without a doubt our favorite spot!! The property is a blend of roiling hills and well maintained grasslands. The house is immaculate and perfectly decorated-designed and maintained. The owner welcomes you to the property like long lost friends while respecting your privacy. The final addition to a great stay are his flock of laying hens - who add the perfect touch of country living. We will be backPs buy some eggs while you are there - excellent quality!

The Texas Roost is a beautiful property! It sits on a gorgeous piece of land in a tucked away area of the edge of Kilgore. It is idyllic, and hosts a very cute rooster/chicken coop.My colleague and I were traveling on business, and found the property extremely comfortable. John was very welcoming, and has put a lot of care into making the space very inviting. We were greeted with fresh eggs in the fridge, as well as a stocked kitchen with coffee, which kept us going on our 3-day business trip. As business travelers, it was important for us to have a clean and safe stay. Not only was the space immaculate, the property sits on a gated community, which gave us additional assurances. 10/10 would recommend to anyone seeking a tranquil and stress-free stay in Kilgore!
