This is the fourth time we have stayed here, & didn't think it could be improved on, but the new cor

This is the fourth time we have stayed here, & didn't think it could be improved on, but the new corner settee & table and chairs have made Howrahs Court even more comfortable. Now with towels included it means less baggage to bring with you. It is very conveniently situated for people arriving by public transport, as we do & is only a three minute walk from the bus station & local supermarket, with pubs & restaurants only a five minute walk away. There are lovely views from most windows & loads of birdlife to see.

Basically this is a very nice apartment, and has been our 1st choice in Keswick for many years: (we last stayed in Nov 2017 for 2 weeks). It has many excellent features; however the recent (early 2019 I think) changes to the living room has made it for us much less user-friendly. Rather like the notorious "windows 10 update" it has removed many of the features that made the room enjoyable. Please note the photos on the website show the former very pleasant layout; they have not been updated as at 8 June 2019. The new seating is much too cumbersome, and the seats are too high for smaller folk. Two of the seats are at right angles to the TV, (not very clever) they limit access to the 2 large windows (formerly one of the "selling points" of the flat) and you need to lean/crawl over them to get at the curtains. The round glass table seems completely out of place beside the door as you enter, and can't really seat 4 unless pulled out into the middle of the room, and its legs seem to occupy the same space as our legs! The useful coffee table has gone. There is only one power socket for charging laptops etc ( the others-of which there are plenty- are hidden by the seating/furniture), and that's beside the fireplace as far from the seating as possible. I appreciate that these are personal opinions (though shared by both of us) and others may see it all differently. For us though it was rather a disappointment: we have many happy memories of 9 Howrah, but may want to look at other options next time.

Great week, lovely apartment, weather, location and all we good wish for, the only downside was we could not connect to the wi fi in the property, so we took our lap top to a local computer store, they logged on for us and it worked, so possibly the problem was with the rooter?. Otherwise, great. thank you.
