A relaxing stay with wonderful wildlife

A lovely 6 day stay at Main Lodge. My chalet was wonderful with fantastic views, even from the shower! Spotlessly clean. The restaurant buffets were good, plentiful food and choices. My guide was excellent, friendly and knowledgeable and the safari drives were for around 3 hours each, twice daily, lots of wildlife to be seen.

absolutely amazing experience

The welcome at the entrance gate, through the reception check in, the staff in the bar and the restaurant, not to mention our experienced tour guide Matt (Jacques) were all fabulous and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food options were plentiful and tasty and the themed accommodation was more spacious and comfortable than I had hoped. The drives through the park had us so very close to the animals and each drive outdid the previous. I had high expectations of a South African safari and Kariega over delivered! A must for anyone.. utterly amazing!

Beautiful location to see wildlife in the eastern

Just returned from 2 wonderful nights at Kariega. Location, food, service and wildlife were all exemplary. A special thank you to our ranger Matt who is truly a cut above. I recommend you request him. He is outstanding!

Amazing experience

Spent two nights at the main lodge. Had amazing four drives with unbelievable Rudi - our reserve guide. Rudi made the experience so much better, he had so much knowledge and info about the bush, he took care of every little detail, and was the nicest. We saw lions, elephants, rhinos, impalas, ghanoo, zebras, girraffes and many more. The reserve is so green and powerfull, you definatly can feel the wild. The schedule is comfortable, food was nice, and the chalet was huge but still cousy. Go to Kariega and ask for Rudi! One little note to Kariega staff: we almost missed the first drive on 1530. Maybe you should send an email day or two before to let the guests know that first drives is on 1530 so that guests will check in on time.

Comfortable lodge chalet and stunning wildlife

The Main Lodge chalet had 2 bedrooms, (1 bathroom and 1 ensuite) with a central living room with wood burner, kitchen, and outdoor viewing patio deck. Comfortable beds and showers, all warm in showery weather and very clean. Breakfast,lunch and varied dinner buffets were scheduled around the 3 hour game drives with a ranger twice a day. There was a pool which we did not have time to see/use. Fantastic viewing of animals/birds/insects/plants with knowledgeable, friendly ranger.

Durchschnittliche Gamelodge + Fahrerabhängig

Unser Fahrer respektive Tourguide hatte keine Ahnung von Kundendienst und hatte uns leider im Stich gelassen. Wir wollten eigentlich noch eine Flusstour auf dem Kariega machen aber als ich ihn gefragt habe hatte er nicht darauf reagiert. Am Abreisetag hatt er mir dann noch gesagt, dass er die Schlüssel fürs Schiff bereit hatte für den Vortag. Aber uns richtig informiert hatte er nicht. Er fuhr sehr ruppig und kannte keine Hindernisse. Sogar einen Termitenhügel überfuhr er einfach und den Elefanten fuhr er einfach in den Weg. Darum würde ich diese Lodge sicher nicht weiterempfehlen oder nochmals hinfahren.

Die Unterkunft ist einfach nur atemberaubend. Man kriegt sein eigenes riesiges Chalet mit eigenem Pool und Parkplatz davor. Super freundliches Personal. Sehr gutes Essen. Und die Safari-Touren sind unbeschreiblich toll.

Boa experiência de Safári (reserva privada) na GR

O hotel tem tratamento diferenciado, com acompanhamento do Ranger determinado para o seu grupo desde o início até o fim da estadia. Restaurante bom. O Safári também proporciona um ótimo contato com os animais em se tratando de uma reserva privada. O chalé é lindo, rústico e confortável.

Ganz tolle Erfahrung in einem Private Game Reserve

Es war eine interessante Erfahrung, in diesem sehr gut geführten Private Game Reserve auf Safari zu gehen. Das Zimmer (die Suite), das gesamte Personal mit dem Ranger, alles war toll. Natürlich hatte dieses Erlebnis auch seinen Preis. Aber wir wollten uns das einmal gönnen. Unbedingt zu empfehlen.

Safaris sind super

Wunderschöne Bungalows mit Blick von der Terrasse in den Kariega -NP. Das Gelände ist sehr weitläufig, wir hatten 15 Minuten Fußweg bis zur Main Lodge zum Essen. Man kann sich aber ggfs. vom persönlichen Ranger abholen lassen.

Kariega är ett vackert naturområde. Utmärkt safari, vi fick se noshörningar, lejon, elefanter, giraffer, flodhästar, zebror mm. De hade jätteduktiga guider, bra service och god mat. Stugorna på main lodge var enkla. Skulle behöva renoveras.
