Our case is still pending investigation answers, but this newly built property had a terrible cockroach infestation. We lost groceries because the roaches were getting *inside* the fridge! Contacted the owner and did not hear back for a day. No resolution offered and was told pest control was scheduled for after our checkout, which was still 5 days out. With nowhere else to go, we changed our flight and had to check out early. We flew standby and stayed here because we had a family emergency and needed to be close to Hilo and the medical center. This property and the owner was not worth the price or hassle, especially since I had to go buy roach spray and spent hours cleaning out dead bugs every day, including coming home to a half alive roach when our teen pulled back her blanket. Deep cleaning, ongoing pest control maintenance, and better communication would go a long way. Hopefully this is corrected soon because I feel awful for any future guests.
