Awesome location, beautiful property, gorgeous grounds, clean beach, walking distance to food, massive pool. We had an amazing time. Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was because of the food - overpriced and not that great at the hotel. We ate elsewhere most of the trip.

Beyond terrible customer service. No follow up from staff or hotel manager following noise complaint, incorrect food billing and promise of resort refunds due to issues with broken toilet, noise from maintenance which guests were not informed of. The list goes on. Awful hotel, mainly due to the complete lack of customer service and trust. They also don’t adhere to their own eco friendly policies.

We have been coming to Kauai for 16 years and stayed at Poipu. This visit we decided to try the Royal Sonesta as the pool looked amazing. The hotel pool and amenities are shared with Marriott Vacation Club and so there are different lobbies and you have to take a short walk from the main area to an escalator and from there to the lobby. The rooms are not too far from the lobby depending on which tower you stay in. The pool is truly the best with 5 jacuzzis and its close proximity to the beach. Duke’s restaurant is right next door which is another convenience. The views are amazing. The beach color is murky not the nice blue color you see on the South side. You couldn’t see the sand below you which made our daughter a little uneasy. Not a fault of the hotel. Each side of the island offer different water clarity with the north and south sides being the most clear blue. The rooms are spacious and clean!

The resort was beautiful and so close to the beach a pool. I would give 5 stars but an employee opened our hotel room while we slept and startled us. I called the front office to report it and after a few minutes was told it was an accident. Other than that staff was fantastic

The room was beautiful and the beds were comfortable! They came and cleaned every other day, which was lovely due to the sand we kept tracking in despite our best efforts. The property, while you can tell was a little bit older, is well maintained. The beach access was perfect and the water was calm and fun to dip in. All of the staff was helpful and gracious in pointing us in the right direction. We would definitely stay here again!
